    hm..mixed feeling.

Good to battle back late on but disappointing to throw away the original lead albeit not a surprise maybe.

Great game. You look very good on the break but your defence did seem fragile. Like us you will be in the mix for play offs come May.

Yes it was a great game to listen to. Just shows that the Championship has a great deal to offer.

    PHEW..... WHAT A GAME !!!!

    What a rollercoaster...

2 well taken goals in the first half from us... and some great passing football ...shaded it... BUT we always looked vulnerable, even frail, in defence.

Elland Rd was SILENT ( apart from us of course)

What a change in the 2nd half. Leeds were on us from the kick off and we never managed to take the game back...... 3 goals... and we were SILENT, some great guy by us got a few of us chanting..... until the great equalizer..... and then the twist of the last minute chance with Ekstrand which was diverted just wide of the goal by a Leeds defender.

Verdict: Well any side could have won this one.... and we should be pleased with a draw and scoring three goals. But defensively we still have problems.

Some great passing football and some atrocious losing of the ball when in possession. Anya's mistake on the halfway line led to us conceding.

An edge of your seat game....

incidentally the silence from us when we were losing was a great shame and I am 60 and I was trying to join in to the few chants. One of the Watford players came over and tried to get us going again... so the players really need it.

I don't think Zola will be completely dissatisfied as Leeds are a good strong team. I just wish we had a Vydra up front with Deeney when those balls came through on the break.

    My voice is hoarse....

Mlle Yorkie's pride is intact.... she was expecting a trouncing......

If that is the incident I'm thinking of, JM caled it as a foul as soon as it happened - was very miffed when play continued, especially when they scored.

Yes Anya thought it was..... as I saw it and people around me... he held on for too long and showed too much of it to the Leeds player.

    The ref was quite fair.

I think the problem with the light touch possession and passing game we play is that it is easy to have the ball taken off you.

However JM probs had a better view of it than us...... will look later..

I think that I learnt today that 3-5-2 doesn't always work in the Championship. Leeds came out to play to that system in the first half and were having problems when we played the ball out wide and attacked them down the flanks. How many times have I heard Watford give away goals when we have tried to play that way. It was suggested that Leeds had not prepared to face a speedy winger like Anya. Second half it was said that Leeds pushed players out to the wings and that became our downfall. Zola had stated after losses that our players tried to go down the middle too much, and yet today we used the wings much better and scored goals.

I don't think that we gave three goals away was to do with the system, more with the mistakes of individuals. Leeds came out second half and exerted extreme pressure on us. I doubt that many teams would have withstood that onslaught. Still a great game to have witnessed or listened to, quite reminded me of matches in the early GT days.

Happy with a draw. Back to some sort of 'form.'

We have defensive problems, well what else is new, at least Zola has tried to change the formation (finally) to modify that.

We scored 3, good news, onwards and upwards? Hopefully.

Slump over, definately not. Positives to take, yes!

That's probably been our main problem, 3-5-2 has worked very well for us so far, but you can't play it every game and due to our complete lack of wingers we don't really have a readily available plan B. We also showed at the end that with our young squad we can still be a bit naive and get caught out at the back, still very much preferable to Warnock's brand of anti-football.

It was pretty quiet in the Leeds end come the final whistle too. I notice he didnt have much more to say.

You look at the blood streaming down Thorne's face from a possibly broken nose you cretin!! Three times he did it three times he got away with it!

It was a return to some of the entertainment we saw last season. Progress has definitely been made.

Now can you make an intelligent arguement as to why?? Or is it just because "he's just too good for you!!"

The problem for us was that we had no plan B, now we seem to have the option of having a back 4 which is less predictable and yet allows us to play the counter attacking football we excel at. If we could play 4-4-2 we could quite possibly be the force we were last season.

Who me?? I posted several times after that post and you will also notice I never made a comment when we were 3-2 up. Looking at the stats I feel it was 2 points lost by Leeds not a point gained but it all evens out come the end of the season. I disagree with the other Leeds comment that we will both be there or there about come the end of the season, I think we will both miss out on a play off spot if I am honest.

Well, not even going to read back, not much to say after that really. Glad we managed to get a point in the end, but while other Watford fans were already celebrating a win at half time, i have to admit to having been far more realistic and the ensuing 2 goals came with rapid predictability, despite the help of the referee. We were far better in the first half than i've seen for weeks, and it was nice to see Deeney caring again, and McGugan putting a shift in (pardon the cliché)...good to have Anya back too but Bond was a quivering wreck after their first two goals and the third was very poor decision making on his part. Still, there were a lot of pozzotives i guess, but we have to win a game at some point. However, a point against a team that have been on the up recently is not to be sniffed at, despite both them and us blowing it in the end.

The stats mean nothing, if Kettle hadn't lost his bottle you would have doubled your red card count and added a couple of yellows too. The endless elbows into the face of Thorne that went unpunished were so obvious, as was the blood streaming down his face which could be seen from the stand!!

Have to admit that, from that camera angle, he could have been onside - was certainly more onside than he was for the third.:) As for your second - that particular coverage doesn't really show the foul on Anya in the centre circle - whereas the BEEB coverage does.

It's all moot anyway - the record books show a 3-3 draw & there's no changing that. A hard-fought point for both teams I reckon.
