Thought I'd set up this thread as a place to comment on developments in other leagues around the world, predominantly Europe of course. Something to take our minds off Spurs mediocrity in these frustrating times.

A couple of interesting developments in Europe this weekend, with Juve smashing Napoli and sublime goals from Pirlo and Pogba, as well as one time Spurs target Llorente <grr>.

Also in Spain Messi looks set to be out until the new year, I fully expect Real and our Gareth to claw a few points back off them in that time.

Might be a good place to comment on how former players are getting on as well, anyone know how Dempsey's doing? <whistle>

    Pogba's goal <applause>

Think this might be Ronaldo's year to win the Ballon D'or with Messi injured again. Not sure what his record's like for the year as a whole but Ronaldo's on 23 goals already this season, isn't he?

Pogba's goal is up there with Ibrahimovic and Kasami's goals of the season so far in my opinion, he's going to be some player.

Ah, you might be right. I think I was getting confused with the number of hattricks he's scored at Real, which I believe is 23 now.

...as well as current Spurs target Andrea Pirlo.

If we somehow pulled that off in January, Sandro and Pirlo in midfield would be orgasmic!

You mean the one that tricked us into believing Soldado was a goal machine and worth 25 million!

With the winter break nearing , Dortmund face Bayern, it's a game which has come at the wrong time for Dortmund, suffering from a defensive injury crisis, forced to sign a 34yr old centre back on a free transfer. Lost their previous two games and a defeat would leave them 7 points behind.

Dortmund are a club which appeared to be one of Europe's best, which isn't far from the truth but they aren't a super club like Bayern, they can't match them financially or historically but on the pitch with their best 11 they had this special togetherness and played progressive and intense football with tons of creativity and excel in popularity over their rivals.

Much of this stems from Klopp, their engaging and charismatic manager who has a love for playing beautiful but effective football, their fan base is huge and their stadium is spectacular in presentation aswell as atmosphere.

What's not to like? The most popular '' second team'' in Europe and one which needs to avoid defeat against Bayern to stop them running away with yet another title.

With Gotze retuning to face the club that made him, and Dortmunds other stars marked down on '' bigger'' clubs transfer list, it will be a game of not just passion but Dortmund not wanting to feel inferior and show players they don't have to move , I'll be rooting for Dortmund but unfortunately it's more hope as Bayern are the team of the moment and have this unstoppable feel to their current performance level.

I wish we had Klopp because it wasn't so long ago that Dortmund were struggling.

As great a player as Ronaldo is and as well as Bale is now doing, the stats just prove how sh*te La Liga is overall despite DL's protestations to the contrary.

This week we've seen Utd thrash the 2nd placed team in Germany who'd won every home game this season apart from a draw v Bayern and Bale perform like he was guesting in an U-11s tournament.

The PL remains where it's at <ok>

Quite a few couldn't be bothered to stay and see it, empty seats galore when the 3rd goes in.

And also the worst defending I have ever seen. You'd back Soldado to put those away!
