273-5 at the close 3 dropped catches 1 v difficult ( root ) one catchable ( panesar C&B chance ) one that should never have been dropped ( Carberry ) .
 
Considering they lost the toss I think England will be relatively happy with the first day
 
A start both teams will be relatively happy with, but could have been better if England took their chances. Australia won toss and elected to bat, so they must see that as an advantage on this pitch. I believe 400 is par at Adelaide and the Aussies are on target for that. Need a good day for England tomorrow and for our batsmen to perform. And the prize for stating the ******** obvious goes to Fran. :)
 
Could have had a lie in, but no, I had to get up to see what was going on :( I was concerned about these Ashes...we may have won 3.0 in England earlier this year, but there were a lot of papered over cracks. Where's the rain when you want it?
 
Australia really missed a trick not referring the last ball of the day to Carberry. Looked bang on. Hopefully thats the bit of luck Carbs needs to have a big day tomorrow.
