Prediction for result and attendance.... I mention attendance, due to us attracting a very very poor 14,900 or so Tuesday v Blackburn. To be fair to the club, they have both the Blackburn/ Huddersfield marked as C priced games, with prices starting at £21. Now while that still is NOT fantastic, it's not as bad as it has been. The club seems to be having more C games, however for there to be any point people need to bother attending! I would like to think we could have around the 19,000 mark Saturday. Results have been very good, we're 5 points ( grrr Leeds + Derby ) off the play offs, and I'd like to think people may start to think about returning to Portman Road. However, looking at the website and the interactive seat chooser which you can do for the home games, I'd be amazed if we get more than 16,500. Season tickets REALLY need to be focused on drastically for next season, gaining more hooked into the entire season. I think we're on around 11,500 this season, so we're shifting a very low amount per game. Price doesn't seem as much of a factor as people were saying either.......! That said, our away numbers are certainly very much on the up this season 2600 or so at Charlton, over 3000 at Reading I think. That's very pleasing! Have a feeling IF we beat Huddersfield, 1200 or so could be at Forest Anyway, prediction for the game. Going to be bold and predict a 2-0 victory, with ( wait for it ) 3 WINS ON THE BOUNCE???!! Us, win 3 games in a row!?!? This has happened around two times in eight years or something ridiculous if memory serves me right.... Summary, 2-0, 16400
Huddesfield are playing well at the moment, bit like us really. The scummer in their ranks worries me slightly so i would like some to give him a little tap on the ankle to eradicate that problem. I'm going for 2-2 Didsy and Graham. Crowd i reckon will be 19526.
1 -1 unfortunately that's my optimistic prediction. Not because I don't think we can win but we have this habit of losing when up against a team in similar form + the mentioned 3 wins in a row barrier. A win on Saturday and I'll really start believing in the play - offs. Attendance: 18,000
That was our lowest league attendance since 1999! £21 for a tuesday night game is still far too expensive for bog standard championship football. Although I'm not living in Suffolk, I would have been much more inclined to go on a freezing tuesday night if it was a simple £10. We have some of the most expensive tickets in the league for no reason. We've been average for years, its no surprise attendances are in steep decline when the club expects people to pay £25+ I'd be very surprised if we got over 18,500 on Saturday. Only a few years ago, it was seen as a disappointment to get under 20,000. Now that is seen as a success. Sad times!
Town to win this one and turn this board into a sticky mess of people creaming themselves over the play offs. Ipswich 2 Huddersfield 0 Hunt and Cressy to score.
The big problem now is that the club have done away with ordering tickets on the telephone! Who's stupid fecking idea was that? Some acne spotted geek no doubt! The website is rubbish for ordering tickets which is ironic as ME is just a glorified ticket tout!
For me is there is no consistency in the prices, if you change the prices throughout the season you're not going to get a great deal of fluctuation as IMO you're only really attracting people who keep up with the football prices. If 'fair weather' fans or even first timers knew what they were going to pay every week, I'm sure as long as it was reasonable they'd be more likely to attend. Season tickets to me seem fairly reasonable but I think the club should have a set price around £23 average for an adult ticket throughout the season with the odd promotion. That way I think you'd get the attendances up and attract more first time supporters, people often tend not to go because of the price, they tend to go when it is convenient for them but can easily be put off it when it is convenient for them the price is high, so the next time they would've been likely to go they just won't even bother looking or contemplating going!!! my prediction is 0-0. Huddersfield have looked good going forwards of late which will mean I think we will try to nulify them and also surely we can't win 3 on the trot, that would be too good to be true!!
Get this one, printed off ticket for Saturday, at the top of the sheet it says season 2011- 2012, although the date for Saturday is correct
im going for a 3-0 to the mighty mighty blues.. dids with 1. berra a rocket header and murph with one off the arse. attendance(any prize for nearest the pin lol) 21,266. we're going well it'll draw the support in.
