I salute you Dave, I would not have the balls to sail in open water. My old man had a couple of small sailing boats that we used to sail every Sunday for a time on the local lake. I was ****ting myself most times but I didn't tell him that! He sailed the Shannon with 2 of his mates Dick & Harry and you can guess what his first name was. They weren't speaking to each other when I picked them up with the boat trailer, you couldn't make this stuff up.
Raheem, 360 degrees of sea is just brilliant and safe! Off shore, deep water, no rocks, little or no traffic. It can scare the **** out of you but you have to tell yourself that it isn't personal - if you were not there the wind and the waves would be doing the same thing. Provided that there's no water in the boat then it may be uncomfortable but it's safe.
