Although will add Swansea had an equaliser wrongly ruled out

That came from a Shelvey shot that was parried as well

  4. You could say the same for Saldado but it is the way the team is setup that's the problem. I said Bony and Michu in the same Swansea side would prove difficult.

Swansea have been poor since the turn of the year. Ever since they won the CC they were on a poor run and went slowly down the table.

  6. Although he's still scoring goals, Michu's not been the same player either.

Great news is on the Montoya front. Much better solution than Bertrand.

Also good knowing that we want Johnson to lower his wages but I can see him just leaving.

So full back and central midfielder are priorities. Montoya and M'Vila would be a great January - good times.

Good to see the movement on Montoya, good to see we need to be pushing gj and getting more cover overall for our outside backs.

Other names I would like to see...

Winger/fullback - Juan cuadrado from florentine
    No.10- quientero from Porto
    Fullback- Luis cavanda from lazio.

Cuadrado is an exciting player - seems like he can beat players for fun. <ok>

Shelvey chose to leave. Rodgers said he could stay but would be behind others in the standings.

Allen and Shelvey are different to. Shelveys competition would be Henderson.

Either way, he wasn't good enough. We need real quality now if we want to push further.

I think Shelvey is probably more talented than Henderson but I would say Henderson will go a lot further in the game because of his work rate and attitude.

I agree. players with no fight can leave. but even more players like shelvey should go to have a career while we put in far better.

Allen v shelvey is a non conversation for me. neither is good enough.

If you line up up as

    GK
    RB CB CB LB
    HM
    CM CM
    RF CF LF

    just as an example

    1 gk in mingolet
1 RB in johnson, serious questions surrounding kelly now... wisdom as reserve but not trusted
1 LB in enrique - cissohko not succesful
    RCB: Toure Skertl Ilori
    LCB: Sahko Agger
    HM Lucas
    CM Gerrard, Henderson Allen, alberto?
RF Suarez, Aspas is a flop
    CF Sturridge, suarez
    LF coutinho, sterling.

We need to realise that no matte rhow much we laugh at utd currently they've two real options in every slot. we still have a LOT of work to do to get to consistent top 4 standard

    8 players?

ferguson was right. a full back, a keeper, a holding midfielder, another central midfielder, a right side forward STILL, a striking option.... add another full back potentially depending on wisdom and hell... throw another midfielder in too boot.

8 players to really build a squad. currently we have jones, kelly, cissohko, allen, aspas, moses, alberto and probably a gap up front. none are good enough IMO to be top 4.

but its not all bad news is it. we've january to come to add to what we have, we've got one game a week so we don;t really need all these guys yet so summer is coming too and best of all we have for the season a nice front 3 with plenty of goals in them and a decent set of defenders if we put it all together.

Lots to do, lots of potential... exciting... a real challenge to keep up with the rest from where we are.

What can anyone tell me about Montoya? Why would Barca let him go if he's good?

not a lot, knew of a Montoya who raced f1 for williams i think.

they probably have many of the same quality or better player coming through the youth system, as to them they are cheap to get hold of,so sell abroad for a small profit.

I think he wants to go and play first team football and has Jordi Alba and Dani Alves ahead of him at Barca.

Versatile full back. Predominantly a right back but can play right wing and left back.

Still a youngster and has Alves and Alba ahead of him at Barca, hence why he is looking to leave. Barca want to keep him and have tried extending his contract but the player wants more game time.

Not lightening quick, but he can dribble quickly with the ball, good technique, sharp passing - in the typical Barca mould.
