He gets every prediction wrong, goes hiding into his cave for a while. And then only mans up when Chelsea, Liverpool, etc lose again .

    Typical plastic

Blimey at this rate we will be missing the FSW

I think the players need to know that any team they face deserves respect and play accordingly

You'd think the competition for places would focus them more. However it seems Jose has his next batch of 'undropables' and that perhaps breeds complacency.

We qualified for next round , so why is everyone's knickers in a twist ?? :S

The team is not suffering internal strife, and the newspapers are gutted that we are up in the table and its not been a disaster, peeps around here need to stop feeding the trolls

We qualified but a win last night and we'd have won the group meaning a rest for the final game. Now we could still finish 2nd leading to potentially nightmare last 16 tie (Barca, Munich etc).

Not bad to lose and still qualify but to lose back to back games against an average side like Basel does not bode well for the knockouts.

Just another example of our inconsistency that has plagued P.L campaigns in particular since 2010 so a little worrying albeit not a spurs level disaster.

If I remember correctly Munich only managed to get past us , due to us being down to 10 men and in the last seconds at that. Barca just got beaten by Ajax! Don't mean jack to win a game when it doesn't count only to come out first round in the next stage , we leave that to the likes of Arsenal.

Trying not to be pedantic , but its not back to back, if you have 4 games in the group before facing the team again and that not even counting the premiwer league and cup games chelsea have played.

We had an off night, when it did not matter, so every needs to " Calm the feck down" :)

I meant back to back against Basel, 2 games, 2 defeats. Admittedly we did the hard work in the 2 games v Shalke but really we should be getting more points from a group like this. And it only didn't matter because Shalke messed up in Bucharest. Had they won we'd now be 2nd going into the final game. This result will be forgotten if we beat Bucharest and top the group but our form of the last 2-3 weeks is worrying - typical Chelsea November actually.

Utter dog turd of a showing last night, one of the three worst performances since the Roman Era, against at best a CL group fodder side, & probably more a Europa side... & for the second time FFS

Played Lampard AGAIN for 90 minutes WHY..?

Failed to use Mata AGAIN...why..? (although he'd have not saved that shat)

no shots on goal the whole 90 minutes...FECKIN JEEZUS..:steam:

Might as well have watched masterchef......

    Rant over......<peacedove>

Certainly looks like it, and it also breeds discontent. Just wish I could see what it is Jose is trying to do, cause all the spark and flair has disappeared and been replaced by pedestrian, negative play and tactics. Lost count of the passes going sideways and worse, backwards.Getting hard to watch.

I went to most homes and quite a few aways last season, and we haven't had any spark and flair since 2010, apart from the August-October 2012 under RDM.

Where was this spark and flair you talk of: in the home blanks v Fulham, City and QPR last winter, or away to Brentford, home and away to Swansea in the Carling semi, in the blank v Corinthians, our one shot one goal v Steaua Bucharest away (a worse performance than Basel v a worse side) and no creativity v Benfica in the Europa League final???

Fact is we've been pedestrian in midfield since 2010

Pretty damn fair assessment. Regardless of the manager, since our brilliant 2010 double, we've been hampered by consistent inconsistency; particularly in the league.

We've needed someone to move the ball incisively for a while.

And I'm not talking xavi, Pirlo, Modders, schweini, Alonso etc... (Carlo did try to get Pirlo tbf)

We'd settle for mickey carrick now!!!

Our defence isn't up to scratch; Cahill is not a title winning defender, JT is getting on, Luiz and Ivan aren't world class and I actually think some of our supporters overrate both massively. I think Azpi and Cole are brilliant but are let down by our central defenders.

Our midfield (talking about the two roles in front of defence) has been dour for a while, they don't suit the way we play and frankly nobody stands out like they did in the midfield we used to have. I remember when we had Frank and Essien in their pomp along with Ballack AND Makelele! Not to mention our presence up top isn't anything to shout about.

Fact is apart from the players who occupy the three attacking midfield positions, our squad isn't brilliant by any means. The spine of our team is actually piss poor compared to last time Jose was in charge.

    Correct.

And still our fans moan about us not topping the league

    We have to be realistic.

We don't have a RVp or Rooney up top or a Toure in the pivot, or even a Ramsey or carrick

    Agree.

McEachran could've been perfect to move the ball about quickly if we'd moulded him correctly and kept him here. We've got Chalobah who I believe could be amazing, I hope he doesn't get the same treatment Josh did!

Be interesting to see what Jose does in Jan, key thing for me is a CB and CM.
