Now, surely for both Saints & Spurs, to say this so directly, opens this journo and the site who posted it to get themselves sued?

I don't worry about Saints telling Spurs to **** off in January or whenever, but if this is a piece planted by Spurs to put pressure on Luke's family, then that's not on in my book and Cortese should set the dogs on them.
 
You miss the point. I'm not worried about the transfer rumour or the price.

I'm just amazed that a journo would print something so clearly liabellous, unless he knew he wasn't going to get sued?
 
Is it libellous though. All Chairmen must have constant contact with loads of Agents and for all we know the family members could be Luke's second cousins once removed.

Not only that, but this would amount to the infamous tapping-up. Cortese has to give permission and we know that isn't going to happen.
 
hmm, so it has taken 2 weeks since this video was released for the rumours to start again, impressive.

All rubbish...he may/will go sometime because players do move on, but won't be this soon. He could move on now and struggle to get a look in at a club like United or City or wait till he is the finished article and move to a team where he will play. The only reason to move now would be money and I think Luke is more interested in developing his game. An Oxo, he ain't. Ten million tells you this is rubbish....Cortese won't answer his phone for less than 20 million.
 
Prior to this summer Spurs were spending amounts on players similar what Osvaldo, Wanyama, and Ramirez cost us. With the sale of Bale they brought Lamela and Soldado (for almost £60m), If they miss out on the CL (which they will) I doubt in the summer they will be in financial position again to pay what Cortese would demand for Luke.

Agreed. It's bloody ridiculous isn't it. And now we're getting rival fans coming on here assuring us that Luke and all the others are just waiting to leave. They can't understand that these guys are tuned to the project. Some of them may/will leave in years to come but that's after they've achieved here. I've never known a Saints squad so committed to an aim. Mind you, this is the first one that has actually had one in 30 odd years.
 
As I've said before all this talk about various 'bigger' clubs raiding us for our players comes with the success we are currently enjoying. Brace yourselves its gonna get a whole lot worse in the coming months.

Injury prone? That old chestnut.

12 games this season.

Started 10, on the bench for one, missed one completely. And that was Swansea due to illness, not injury.

If that's "injury prone" I'm the Pope.

Any "injuries" you've heard of have been sustained just before England duty and have been cleared up miraculously every time by the time Saints play. Coincidence, no doubt. Oh yes.
