You thought wrong.

Barry took exception to him clearly sticking his beak in & grabbed hold of him

How the hell do you know? Were you there and able to hear what he said..?

In your opinion he was asking for a red card..
In Gerrez's he was asking the ref to give him some room.

Unless he/the ref comes out and confirm what was actually said we'll never know so to say someone is wrong is ridiculous <doh>

Its not even my opinion, he was a thought. It would make sense since the player needs treatment and everyone is standing on him!

But as you rightly said, how do any of us know?

Because the players actions towards the scruffy **** tell you exactly what he said you deluded idiot

But Distan's reaction to Gerrard jumping into Barry was that he elbowed him... yet we clearly know he didn't <doh>

Basing all facts on player reactions is a ridiculous argument <laugh>

IMO nothing will happen because it was against suarez. There would have to be these sorts of incidents on him for weeks before any action would be considered.

Distin's reaction was because he knew Gerrard had looked to give him a forearm smash, the fact that he didn't quite get it right doesn't alter the intent.

Why would Barry grab the physio in that scenario then brains????? I'm all ears

Do what??? Come on now tobes. You call IBWT deluded but are you not putting the blue specs on a bit??

No idea... maybe he misheard what he said?

Like I said, none of us know what was said. Maybe you're right, maybe he did say something along the lines of that should be a red card but to claim someone else is 100% wrong for suggestion a different opinion is idiotic and small minded.

End of discussion <ok>

That Lego headed twat does something similar in every derby. Distin's a vastly experienced pro & he knew what the intent was , hence his reaction

End of discussion? Why because you say so? Lmao

So you can't come up with any other possible scenario that would provoke that sort of reaction then. Thanks for clearing that up. As for small minded, the fact that you're denying something that's patently obvious & you can't even offer a sensible argument against, would suggest the 'small mind' is yours pal

There were plenty plenty other incidents of some really strong tackles or what not in this derby and others but this one just looked standard to me. I don't think the arm extended out really either which is normally the sign of the elbow used to hurt. Professionals are taught to protect themselves to and jump with arms raised. I always find this a grey area with calls as that is what you are taught it is hard to differ the intent ( normally have to look at the eyes before or if he is even playing the ball, which I think Gerrard was going for).

Mirallas tackle imho was a red and in any other game probably would have been given, i believe dowd gave mirallas, rightly or wrongly another chance as there was no intent. Credit to both teams for not reacting to the decision in such a way as to escalate the decision. Dowd was trying to keep the game in shape how often have people reacted when a ref sends someone off saying it has ruined the game.
Just because he got the decision wrong does not effect the rest of the game, tbh i prefer 11 v 11 for us, we dont do well against 10 men this season :)
The game itself was a great derby and totally engrossing.
As for miss by Allen we do not know the game would have been over at 3-1, Everton may had figured they had nothing to lose and punished us, for me the two midfielders who were poor were Lucas and Gerrard. I think if we are continuing with Gerrard (which i have no problem with) then Lucas has to give way for another player with bags of energy.
Unfortunately for Lucas the area of his game which appears to be poor in is a particularly costly one for a team like us, ie one that cant defend set pieces, as Lucas gives away lots of silly free kicks in dangerous areas.
Rooney should have gone too, more annoying he got a yellow, do not get why he even did it, odd

FFS <doh>

I'm not saying he didn't say that... I've said in my post above that you may be right, he may have said that. I also came up with a possible scenario where he may have miss heard him?

Small minded - having or showing rigid opinions or a narrow outlook; petty

Think the fact you can't move from your opinion despite not knowing any of the facts show that you are being small minded about it.

I'm open to the fact that it could have been right, but none of us know hence me saying it's stupid you saying that someone else is wrong for suggesting something else.

So, if Gerrard's jump without any contact deserved a card because of perceived 'intent', what did Mirallas deserve for actually drawing blood from Henderson with a flying arm, or does that depend upon Distan's judgement too?

Pipe down. Care to show me where I said he deserved a card of any colour? I said Distin knew his intent & reacted accordingly

Maybe Barry thought he'd said something? Ie, mis-heard. Not rocket science is it <doh>

He did above, as have I above. Is it so difficult to comprehend? People mi-hear others all the time. I didn't claim this is what happened either, it was a suggestion. The fact you've got your back up about it and decided to second guess Gerrard's actions suggest you have a bitter pill to chew <whistle>

PS...cut out the insults.

IBWT... I know it was in retaliation, but can you cut the insults too please.

Pipe down. Care to show me where I said he deserved a card of any colour? I said Distin knew his intent & reacted accordingly

Is it a trait of all Evertonians/Everton players that you can read minds? Distin managed to read Gerrard's mind to work out his intent and you managed it as well? <laugh>

Gerrez - Didn't actually call him an idiot, just his words were idiotic <whistle>

Misheard? Oh ffs, only in the land of the kopite <doh>

I can only assume that McCarthy also 'misheard' exactly the same comment then. ****ing lol @ you lot ffs

I thought our physio had made some crack about how Dowd was coping financially now that Slurguson has retired by the look on his face. Judging by Dowd's performance yesterday, it's valid to have concerns about a man who's obviously missing his stuffed brown envelope fix.
