Just read this article and that was my first thought. Loyal to his bank balance is nearer the truth.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's struggling to find anywhere else and just trying to get back in favour with us Bluebirds.

Anyway, I'm getting vertigo this high up so I'm off back down to C level.

    All the best Swans <ok>

I was glad to read on Sky that he said he'd never come to Swansea because of his loyalties with Cardiff. That's fair enough and I respect that but I wouldn't want someone of his character in the dressing room. Also the history between him and us and just doesn't suit. There are far better players out there and I'm sure BR and HJ are already working on bringing them to the Stadio del Libartores.

Bothroyd is miles better than any striker Swansea have had in the last couple of decades. Don't let the anti-Cardiff bias blur your vision, he would be amazing for you in the PL....

Clearly you being a Ceeeerdiff supporter is bluring yours lol.

He would be ****e for us. Sure he is a good player, a very good player, But his attitude stinks, he upsets everyone he looks at, would cause upset in the dressing room and well everyone apart from Cardiff fans generally hate the sight of his pig ugly face.

    So to sum up....

    He's a ****er! <ok>:bandit:<somersault>:emoticon-0109-kiss:

Name one striker you've had better than Bothroyd since the end of your last stint in the top division in the 80s....I can't think of any...the closest is Borini surely?

Actually most Cardiff fan's appear to dislike Bothroyd so that's wrong. His attitude has been pretty good for us, refusing to share rooms with players to avoid the drinking culture. He wasn't a problem from what I saw or at least there were many bigger problems in our team...

Borini showed more class in the 11 games he played than Bothroyd ever has.

If he played for any other club, I still wouldn't want the prat. He's a talented footballer, but as a person, he's a complete bellend.

Bothroyd in the PL - Lol. He'd get sent off every game he played for diving. Plus you'd have Shawcross wanting to break his legs, Rooney wanting to elbow the twat and Materazzi (If he goes to QPR) headbutting the tosspot in the chet like ZZ did to him.

I think most likely that Boothroyd's statement is based on the fact that there are other, bigger clubs interested. Celtic, Everton... I very much doubt he would choose us over them. Would be interesting if we were the only Prem club chasing him...

Players like Warren Feeney and Dai Thomas have played for both teams without too much of a fuss but the significant factor was that they were both bobbins. When it is a very good player and there is a significant rivalry then it's never going to be worth it - esp. with alternatives like Everton and Celtic sniffing around. Would the Swans even be able to pay half what they could?

I would have been delighted if it could have happened (rivalry or not - when motivated he was a very good player and prob good for our 4-3-3 formation) but, with Danny Graham about, I'm not sure how well he would cope with the possibility of being benched. Or, indeed, how Danny Graham would have coped with it. Either way we're maybe better off looking at alternatives that can play across the front to maximise our options. I've always felt that the true value of players like Dobbie and Tate is their willingness to play in different positions. The more players we have like the stronger our squad - it will artificially give us extra options without the expense of extra wages and the problems of dealing with too many players that aren't playing.

Are we talking about the Bothroyd who was capped by England? Even if there were injuries, you have to be playing pretty well to be capped by England. Bothroyd had had some outrageous games over the years for us and deserved his cap. Yes, he has had a hit and miss career hence why he is in the Championship but I'm afraid Borini's record and performances are not even close to Jay's over the 3 years he was with Cardiff.

Do you know him personally? I doubt it so stop making snap judgements. He made a mistake when he was younger with Arsenal, he learnt from it, so what?

I imagine he was on his way to the PL next season anyway so we'll see. He will outscore Danny Graham, you watch ;)

I'm not making snap judgements, I'm basing my opinion on him from what I have seen. The guy's a prick on the field and you know it. Same as Chopra really. Don't know him either, but doesn't take a genius to work out he's a cock.

I'm afraid I don't take any Swans fan seriously when it comes to Chopra, I've always detected bitterness since he scored those two goals in April 2010. As a fan I think Chops is a bit of a waster but I've never had a problem with Bothroyd. When you have players with reputations such as Alan Tate & Nathan Dyer it's a bit of a pottle/kettle/black anyway...

    That made me chuckle! lol

Highly Agree Thou, What is it with Cardiff players anyway they all have massive chips on their sholders and a stinking attitude to everyone and everything.

Im pretty shocked that Ipswich have signed Chopra btw.... He looked like he had eaten Bellamy towards the end of the season the fat gambling fooker lol:bandit::afro::emoticon-0117-talki

Not really, Dyer was a foolish kid at the time and was dealt with correctly, talking about the kettle and stuff though, how about Bellamy having a ruck in Cardiff and getting charged for it ;) think he must be upstanding person getting involved in that
