Ashes heating up. Clarke caught on stump mike saying, "Get ready for a broken ****ing arm" to Jimmy!

I don't think anyone expected a result like that. 11 days to the next Test - this has the makings of a great series <ok>

That's more like it EC, proper tough cricket is back. If I was Michael Clarke though, I'd choose my target a little more carefully. Jimmy Anderson will remember that little snippet next time Clarke's facing him !!!
Good 1st up result for us, but this Aust team will have to do it again to convince me. Gabba worked for our pacemen, England will learn and adapt quickly. Best sight for me was Nathan Lyon, who everyone had down as a dunce. He looked better than Swann in conditions not great for spinners. Next one will be a hell of a lot closer, we are still 2 batsmen short, England need Trott and Bell to fire up. And they say football is a funny old game !!

Trott leaves tour due to mental illness. Thought Warner was an idiot with his 'weak' remarks but he should be suspended now.

Cricket is a small community, he would have known Trott had depression,

Warner is the most arrogant sod in cricket

He's probably no more arrogant than a number of top cricketers, the difference with Warner is he is constantly looking and finding trouble yet somehow comes out now a National hero ?
5 months ago he assaulted Joe Root in a bar, criminal offence and CA desperate to leave their playing options open for the Summer Ashes series they didn't send him away (like they did with Ponting 15 or so years ago).
Weak management, prioritising cricket before values.
The real disappointment for me though is Clarke, inciting serious injury on a fellow professional is bad enough but doing it whilst captaining your country and a leader of 10 team mates is poor, really poor.
Ponting was never everyone's favourite but he wouldn't have stooped that low....

They got whipped into a frenzy by the Aussie media. Hopefully they will calm down now

Grizzly, Warner is a goose, but before he is packed off to ten years in Solitary, I ask you to recall the ECB and their response when one SIR Ian Botham, was threatened with removal from a flight between Perth and Adelaide for throwing up in his seat, abusing passengers, sexaully offending the stewardesses, grappling with the cabin crew and being charged with drunkenness on landing. The result ????????? Nothing. Or when David Gower, pissed as a newt, took an unauthorised flight over a Brisbane cricket ground and was extremely lucky not to be charged with endangering lives. Punishment ?? A "severe" talking to. Both grew up, to have illustrious careers, and hopefully, so will Warner.
As for Michael Clarke, dumb to speak out near a mike, but Anderson had been giving some extremely low **** to Mitch Johnson , very personal hurtful stuff, before Clarke stepped in. Unless it's funny, I don't much like sledging. Best example is allegedly Merv Hughes in Sth Africa. A fast bowler, maybe Donald asked him loudly why he's so fat. Reply," Cause every time I bonk your missus, I have a biscuit "
Arrogance is something all top sportsmen and women have in their DNA. What Warner said had nothing to do with Trott having to go home, his flights had already been reserved and the decision made. He should not have been selected in the first place if the ECB knew he's so fragile. And it's not the 1st time, Trescothick and someone else from a World Cup had exactly the same condition. I hope Trott comes to terms with his demons, my daughter in law suffers the same illness and it's no fun at all.
Anyway, the second Test should be spicy, and the Adelaide pitch much more suited to England batsmen and spinner.
