I say give him a bonus if he manages to keep them up. Nothing if he keeps them up at our expense!

Just found this on the BBC site and in the Daily Star

' Pulis will not be filling the vacant position at Selhurst Park when he returns from a short break in Portugal later this week, despite intense speculation he would take the job after slashing his £2.5million pay demands.

Pulis believes the club's problems run too deep to prevent Premier League relegation and was also frustrated it was left until Saturday to renew contact with him, despite first meeting Parish a fortnight ago.

Palace want to appoint a manager in the next 48 hours. After the Pulis U-turn their attention will switch back to Iain Dowie or Dan Petrescu.'

Crystal Palace intend to appoint a new manager before Saturday's Premier League match at Hull - with former Stoke boss Tony Pulis in advanced talks to succeed the departed Ian Holloway.
The Palace hierarchy are hopeful of completing negotiations in the next 24 hours, having returned to Pulis after being disappointed by the calibre of the other candidates who had applied.
The 55-year-old former Stoke City boss has been among the front-runners since Holloway left the struggling Eagles on 23 October.
Welshman Pulis was appointed Potters boss for a second time in 2006 and two years later led them into the Premier League after a 23-year absence.
Despite not finishing lower than 14th in five seasons in the Premier League, he left the Britannia Stadium by mutual consent in the summer after being told the board wanted to take the club in a "different direction".

Summer changes cost Palace - Holloway
Pulis admitted in October that he was keen to return to management but insisted "the job had to be right."
Initially, Pulis did express reservations about a number of aspects of the Palace post. He has never been relegated during his 21-year coaching career, and if he does take the job he would want to be allowed to bolster the squad in the January transfer window in order to try to preserve that record.
Eagles chairman Steve Parish had also seriously explored the possibility of appointing former Chelsea defender Dan Petrescu, who is now manager of Dinamo Moscow.
However, Petrescu told AFP news agency: "I have not been in talks with any club being under contract with another outfit. And I'm not set to do it in the future."
Struggling Palace are believed to be reluctant to appoint a young up-and-coming coach for fear of giving fans and players the impression they were already planning for relegation.
The London club are currently bottom of the Premier League having won just one and lost nine of their 11 matches. The club are six points adrift of safety having only collected four points from 11 games.

Ex-Stoke boss Tony Pulis is considering an improved offer from Crystal Palace to become their new manager and could finally take charge of the Premier League's bottom club later this week.

Good luck to him and fair play if he can extort that sort of money out of a club which is likely to be relegated, regardless of who takes charge?

I still do not think he will take this on. If he does I am sure he will be in for Whelan and Walters. He might also take Crouch but I think that the amount of defending he does at set pieces will encourage Hughes to keep him.

Smithers, maybe they found an extra gear after hearing the news.
"Look we won, we don't need him!"

Potts, I was talking about Palace mate.
Reckon we might get Jerome back now? I doubt Pulis will use him, and we needs striker, especially given the news about Agudelo.

To be fair Jerome looked really sharp yesterday. I definately think we should have loaned out Jones rather than Jerome. Hes on loan till Jan. isn`t he,or is it a season long loan?

He's there for the season mate.

Crystal Palace's on-loan Stoke City striker Cameron Jerome set for an uneasy reunion with Tony Pulis

Telegraph Sport understands Palace are unable to send Jerome back to Stoke as the deal included a significant loan fee of around £1 million and is binding for the season, while they also agreed to cover his wages.

That leaves the 27-year-old facing an uncertain future at Selhurst Park and fearing the prospect of being frozen out completely, unless Palace offer Stoke a proposal to scrap the deal prematurely.
