I think mid and lower half teams can't keep up the pace as they still chase the ball against us, that must have some factor as to why we play better in the second half.
I was streaming at the screen after the second for them to stop giving away the ball so easily. Luckily Fulham didn't know how to get the ball in to our box well enough and then once we got to there end of the pitch towards the final moments of the game the team did the right thing and kept it in the corner. Btw where did the 4 minutes come from?
Also very happy with the result. Keeps Fulham pegged back and all we've got to do now is beat Man U tomorrow 7-0 and we'll be above you again.
JdG weak on the ball cost us another goal. Conceded a corner from the attack and Parker's cross went in. Atrocious defending though. he was completely on his own with all the time in the world. Was it Lamah who left him? Not convinced by Lamah. He's technically gifted but never runs at his man. He gets the ball then always lays it off. I could do that!! Rarely does he attack his defender to get past him and take him out of the game. Anyway, a great result and much needed; and in fairness to JdG, in general, he had a tidy enough game. The lads kept going in the second half and, overall, were easily the better team. We'd be sitting pretty if we could have the 4 points those cheating referees stole from us against West Ham and Stoke, not forgetting that each of them would also be a point worse off than they are. Off out for dinner now which will taste a whole lot better thanks to the lads. Well done them. By the way, anyone agree that a Scott Parker type is what we need to put a rocket up our midfield? I wanted us to sign him when he became available.
JdGs best WHOLE game in ages, despite your Sharp conclusion. I'd still rather have most of our other players on the pitch in stead of him...
Didn't see the game today guys. Who scored for us and how did we play in general? How was Bony? As for Scott Parker ivor, he's EXACTLY the type of player our midfield lacks in my opinion
We went one up through an own goal, then Parker scored from a wonder cross come shot... but then Shelvey won the game with a real beauty. Watch Match of the Day at all costs because his goal was sublime. Bony was keeping them busy but had some heavy touches, particularly with his head but all in all, the players put in a good shift and Parkers goal couldn't be stopped by Gordon Banks let alone Vorm.
. What a difference a game makes Fantastic display from the lads today with just a couple of lapses at the back that we have to work on..
Really good win for you guys - the only negative (if the BEEB's stats are accurate) is that that with all that possession, 63%, and 21 shots (goal attempts) you only had 5 on the money!) ... think you need to get Mr Michu back ASAP.
I'm not worried about how many shots as more the merrier. without any shots there would be no goals at all, the more shots we get the more chances we have of any going in...Its when we have 63% possession with no shots is a worry. A fine display...8/10
