Thanks for replying Silk, I can tell you though I wouldn't give Boateng a second in the squad. I went to the game away at Sunderland, and although he only played for 65 minutes and thats all I've seen on him, he was dire. Always gave away the ball and didn't look confident when he had possesion, im just glad we got him on a free!

I'd like to see him get a bit more than 65m PL playing time. I guess as he is a free there isn't so much pressure on the transfer to be a success than if he was a £3m signing but we should give him more time considering it's his first experience of playing in our league and our other options there are poor.

I see him as being able to play a similar role to Etuhu, nothing creative or glamorous, just breaking up play. Sidwell and Parker hasn't really worked and our defence needs more cover than Sidwell offers.

I saw him in a pre-season friendly and he was one of our best players. I thought he looked like a good starter for the season. He might have got MOTM in two pre-season matches.

Do understand that you would like to give him some time, but I'd even prefer Sidwell and definitely Parker ahead. Perhaps as a sub or in an FA cup game where we can rotate but at the moment where games are so important and every point is so vital it would be risky, seeing that he's only played one game so far though I cant say you're going to get your wish quickly as obviously Jol doesn't like him much and is only a back up it seems.
