    Fry it till it's crispy.

    In a fresh cob from the bakery down the road with a decent helping of HP sauce.

    Washed down with a brew.

    Hangover = gone.

    A what? Why would I want to wrap my bacon in corn? I mean, I can imagine it but it'd take some doing.

    It's a breadcake, flower.

    Have to disagree, it's a bread roll (cakes are sweet)

    After working in Bratfud I tell you what baffled me - they call it a teacake. WTF?!? A teacake has got dried fruit in it. FACT.

    And I'd say bap to be honest. I think that's cos it's universal, everyone everywhere in the UK can at least grasp what a bap is.

    Your right about the teacake having dried fruit in it, it's excellent toasted with a good amount of butter or margarine <cheers>

    I'm not having that for a second. If I went in to a sarnie shop and asked for something in a bap they're not going to turn around and say "Sorry, we've only got the much bigger breadcake".

    There's another one - sarnie or butty? I'm all for the former, I dont think Ive said butty in my life.

    Precisely. Actually semi-interesting FACT - margarine doesnt exist in Britain. You cannot buy it. To be marg constitutes something including dodgy ingredients and you now get a 'spread' instead.

    I reckon they're both of Scouser origin.......'Sarnie' = sandwich; 'Buttie' = open sandwich.

    To me it depends on what you are having, I'd have a cheese sarnie but a bacon buttie

    Most "spreads" aren't that pleasant either, I would never eat anything involving hydrogenated vegetable fats, I'll stick with good old butter, the only additive is salt
