Terry Nation - creator of Dr Who? There was a blue plaque unveiled this week at the house where he was born.

Didn't have to google that one - I'd only just finished reading it on the BBC website. <laugh>

What links the current Ashes tour, Watford FC and Irish whiskey?

On the Ashes tour is Steven Finn who is a WFC fan. Problem is I can't think of a link to Irish whiskey.

There is an Irish distiller called Mickey Finn. They make Irish apple whisky. Maybe Yorkie should ask for the reciepe. :)

After careful research I have an answer.

The Vic and The Gabba both held greyhound racing and there was an Australian champion greyhound called Whisky Assassin. <laugh>

Looks like another clue is required - or maybe a Broad hint...:)

    1) The Ashes first Test was held in Brisbane
    2) Watford's first apprentice was Mel Brisbane
    3) Mel Brisbane's first (and only)......

Mel Brisbane never played for the first team, so could he have played for the junior team in the tournament held in Ireland?

I think you'll find that he did in a couple of friendlies - the second of which will make the answer obvious (I hope)
