still awaiting the link showing otherwise about fans consultation .. your digging a deeper hole every reply .. please show me your shining beacon through link or quote at least .. I don't want you to embarrass yourself totally afterall

What on earth are you burbling on about? You claimed you'd spoken to the FA and said there's no mention of passholders in their procedure. You claimed they said a small meeting counts as full consultation.

I said they don't detail what full consultation is, but are clear that a small meeting isn't. **** knows how you expect me to post a link to a conversation. <laugh>

the answer is simple, because he does not need to .. that's what bosses decide and you abide by .. you don't like it then you walk away .. hence todays article

Well clearly he does need to as the number of people against it are getting louder and louder.

And since you've answered a question of your own making there, so i'll ask for a third time.

If he is so certain that 98% of fans support him, and so certain that he is correct, then why won't he prove it and give us all a vote, to 'make that silly little minority face the truth'?

you have both proved you have no facts or links to back up your claims .. you literally are hanging on to something but I am not sure what ... this is what sums up the CTWD group .. please post facts or links saying you have a chance

I have never rang the FA .. I do know the laws however as it is down to a council not fans

now show me otherwise .. its up to him and him only ..

goodnight and look forward to responses in the morning

and the louder and louder will still be at games which means money , so he wont care ,... he has said what you need to do .. will you ?

So basically, you came on here late on trying to sneak your lies through as fact and got called out on it.

Put your spade down and step away from the keyboard. <doh>

So you won't answer the question then.

The reason you won't answer we all know, because the answer is that the majority would give him a kick up the arse and say NO to Hull Tigers.

3.(l) A Club competing in any one of The Premier League, The Football League, The
Football Conference, the Southern Football League, the Isthmian League and the
Northern Premier League shall not be permitted to change its playing name (i.e. the
name under which the Club competes in a Competition), as recorded on Form “A”,
save with the prior written permission of Council.
Any application for a change of playing name must be received by The Association
Council will use its absolute discretion in deciding whether to approve a change in a
Club’s playing name.

Does this mean they don't need to consult the fans and can decide themselves?

No,they've elaborated on that. It can only be applied for in April and the applicant will need to demonstrate that they've consulted with fans. What they can't say 100% because it's never happened before, is exactly what they expect that consultation to be, other than it needs to be seen as adequate. A chat with a few select individuals isn't adequate.

I suspect Mr Allam expected flag waving, marching and shouting. Whats sent him wobbly is that instead, he's been presented with reasoned logical argument against the name change and been asked to demonstrate the logic of his proposal.

It would seem there is no considered logic to the name change, and it seems he feels any decent referendum would confirm it doesn't have popular support, because if he didn't it'd be easy enough to have one.

It would also seem that he can't do as he pleases as far as the name change goes as he's subject to FA rules and possibly Premier League votes.

For a man used to getting his own way, and one that wanted to be seen as a philanthropic saviour that's a few bitter pills to swallow, especially when he's made sure it's played out so publicly.

As an aside, I've just noticed that the "pro-rata refund" deducts £30 for each game we've played so far!! Another reason it can't count as any sort of indication of support.

Concern is that he may call today's ultimatum a referendum 'by feet', and that if crowds don't drop - conveniently with Home Games against Liverpool, and United - that is his fan consultation.

It would seem that the first 5 games have all been £30 for an individual match ticket as the deduction goes up by £22 or something this week. (so we have reduced price tickets at the game he's opened up the offer for?)

So you won't answer the question then.

In all honesty, the real answer is, because he doesn't have/want to.

I have a question for the pro name changers if I may. Do you not find it rather disconcerting that the name change is going ahead without serious consultation with supporters over a period of time, bearing in mind of course the kind of change proposed for the club? Just that if I was in your position I would be rather disappointed that Dr Allam had gone ahead with this largely ignoring the views and opinions of supporters and that he appears to be satisfying his own agenda. You may well agree with his plan, but do you not feel rather aggrieved that he merely assumed you would be happy with this without consulting people to find out? Would it not have been better to have put into place consultation meetings before this hit the press in the summer to gage people's views? It all seems very 'me, me, me' even if you are in agreement with his plan to change the name.

I'm pretty sure nobody is pro name change.

I don't think he's sees it as people agreeing with him, only the fact that a lot of people don't disagree with him. He's challenged the protesters today, a lot of them seem to be shying away from it though. Also, why are you up at 5.28am?

Early start as I'm driving across to near Manchester for a training course this morning.

Hull Tigers? Lets go the whole hog and change the name to the Hull Pharoahs with a Sphinx as a logo a Pyramid on the shirt fronts and each players name in Sanscrit on the back.We could sign Nile Ranger to lead the attack and have professional Sand dancers performing at Half time.
Now that would bring in all the revenue Allam could hope for .
