The Ashes starts tonight,Mrs PPLF and i are pathetically excited and make yet another promise to one another to actually go and do an ashes series down under one year.
It's apparently odd to have a wife into sport, I've always liked cricket but the mrs loves the game with a real passion, her girly mates think she's potty

So onto Brisbane and probably the hardest venue for us to start at,historically he are **** here and we've generally been pretty poor in first tests overseas so I would snatch your hand off for a draw right now
If we can achieve a win or dominant draw at the Gabba,i think we will win the series pretty comfortably but a defeat will be disastrous as I think it will really kick the Aussies on to probably recapturing the ashes
Carberry Cook and Trott really need to score heavily at the top in the series to give us a real foundation for Anderson and co to be able to attack rather than bowl with defending always at the back of the mind like it was for most of the summer, not helped by Cooks conservative captaincy but there you go
I'll back us to win 2-0 but it will be squeaky bum time if we come unstuck at the Gabba

Lucky batard! I'm planning on doing that at some point. Always want to go back to Oz so to tie it in with an ashes match would be ideal.

2 hours and 48 minutes to go. Probably watch an hour or so tonight before drifting off

I hope you win the Lottery first <ok> My son is a member of WA at The Wakka so I could get tickets with him for the Perth test. But the tickets are a hell of a price and the beer is more expensive!! But at The Wakka the only full strength beer is sold in the Members Area.

Heard on the radio early that it works out about £8 a pint <yikes>

That's for their Half Beer - 3.5% ABV! Anything over 5% will cost you at least £10. Don't even think about smoking as well - you'd have to become a crim just to afford it!!! <laugh>

Players are out on the pitch........here we go

Not an England supporter but just hoping for an exciting, close series.
