He really is our version of Balotelli isn't here? Right down to the allergic reaction on the pitch! <laugh>
 
I wish I could have an injection whenever hay fever is giving me ****.
 
He's not had the best of starts with us has he?

Hopefully he can get over this and his trapped nerve and get a good run in the team because I think he's a quality player.
 
This should not be a problem. He had a reaction to something, had some anti histamine and will be all better now, there shouldn't be any lasting effects. Interesting that they say he should carry cortisone though, if he had to use it would he then fail drug testing?

I would have thought that adrenaline would be on the list of banned substances as well. If he did have a repeat reaction and had to receive steroids or adrenaline, would he then be forbidden for playing for a period of time? Anyone know?

I don't think so, doubt they would be testing for cortisone, its excreted pretty quickly anyway.

There's no reason adrenaline would be used as a performance enhancing drug, also impossible to test for because a- its a natural substance that will be found anyway and b- it is broken down VERY quickly (and for good reason- who wants an adrenaline rush lasting 4 hours!

Antihistamines are fine. Cortisol is a catabolic steroid not to be confused with anabolic steroids. I believe if they show up on a drug test and you have a sound medical reason for using them you're fine. Think they're still used illegally in endurance events and used to be used excessively in damaged knees.
 
Cortisone would be fine I think. The England cricket team have announced that Kevin Pietersen had an injection of it for his knee this week. Can't see them doing that for a banned substance!
 
In the olden days, when I actually played the game, there was an occasion when I had an allergic reaction to the stuff they used for the pitch markings, I think the Groundsman had used the wrong concoction.
 
Think its the manner in which you use it. Lance Armstrong, amongst the cocktail of drugs he took, had daily iv steroid injections at the most demanding stages of the TDF.
