Lots of guesswork and false accusations going on here. Dai was banned because Valley requested it, it's there for all to see on the ban thread they set up. The reason is because Dai got into an arguement with Norway on his thread. No one else was involved. Was it right or wrong ? Who knows, the only person who can answer the exact reasons is Valley himself, so if any of you want to know you now know who to ask. I'm sure he'll be on your board soon enough for you to ask As for Dai, he's ok he's been spotted tonight elsewhere carrying life as if nothing's happened
I know there are apparent merits of the PM facility, but I do think it can be used to politicise the board. I have used it but am not a fan...I now seem to use it to apologise . I know many use PM here and sense its adverse effects at times over here also. Get rid of PM and all its scullduggery, perhaps? Behave like Gentlemen and keep it all in the open? I would hate to Mod us thats for sure!
Are you saying you get banned when somebody requests it by sending a PM or by does it need to be more than one complaint?
Valley is a mod on our board. He put in a request to a super mod for a permanent ban on Daiswan. That request got accepted so Dai was banned. Conclusion: The Swansea board will be a more pleasant and peaceful place.
I made the point on their board (which was completely ignored), that if Dai is pissing them off and they think he deserves a ban then why don't they just ban him from the Swansea board? Why isn't he allowed to discuss football (or even non football for that matter) with fans of other teams? We don't mind him too much over here because he's more comical than offensive so I find a total site ban completely outrageous.
dead_passive, it's the way the site is set up, if someone gets a ban from their own board then it is an automatic site ban. I will raise the question with the super-mod about allowing Dai to post here although he may have to have his profile changed so he is linked to the Cardiff board, an honoury Cardiff supporter, wonder how he would like that?
Good idea .. Lets see if he goes for that. Although my guess is he is already making up a new profile anyway. He has done It before.
Well if you ask any Swans fan, you could just make him a Liverpool fan instead of a Cardiff fan and that way he can post on other boards apart from ours, plus it wouldn't be telling porkies
Well that made laugh pal, fair play. If anything, Dai was one element that actually pulled most of you together - united in the cause of slagging him off. For your board to become a "more pleasant and peaceful place", you'd need far more surgery over there than just getting rid of Dai. A mass lobotomy booking for the Groovy Gang would be good start. All boards have a fair cross section of contributors and there are a number of Jacks visiting here up for a chat and we (the vast majority anyway) respond in good part. Unfortunately, the power clique dominating your board are ruining it as a chat forum and that's why many of us stay away. The bottom line is that each board sets out its' stall as the way they want it run, and within reason, the level of moderation should be decided by it's members. You've made your choice and the best of luck to you. Hope sense can prevail and Dai comes back before long - even if it's just over here for the craic - Taff mate, work on it with the powers that be to see if it's a possibility.
I have to agree with you Sparkey, I have sometimes cringed at the responses Cardiff fans have got when visiting our board. It bugs the **** out of me, but the annoying thing is, those who do say it, tend to be real tidy posters most of the time. But like our board, not all posters are the same, and tell Cardiff fans to **** off at the first sighting, and that is the same on every board, including here.
Not at first sighting, but I have been told to **** off My point was all boards ave their share of posters who would ratehr other fans not post, and say crap to other fans, just like we do.
I disagree. He had an agenda to cause friction since his nose got put out of joint several times last season (at that time anything that went wrong was Huw Jenkins fault according to him) and has carried on that path up until now even after he was banned for several weeks for wumming on another board. He took his angst to other boards to slag off the Swansea team and manager .... He was even bragging on here that he wanted to get the whole swansea board shut down! What kind of swans supporter would want to do that? Did he really believe that the site owner would shut down a whole board of a team because of one disgruntled poster? Anyway the point is he was a deliberately disruptive influence on our board but no longer will be.. At least until he rejoins under a new name as he has done in the past. I will agree that there a certain clique element on the Swansea board but from what I can see there's also one here and every board. Its all part of being a fan. The only difference is you don't appear to have had a wolf in sheepskin clothing to attempt to cause a melt down as yet.
Like I said Pagan - "All boards have a fair cross section of contributors" - none are exempt of an aggressive element, but I believe this board to be more inclined toward the reasonable regarding responses to visitorss whereas your is inclined the other way. As for Dai - he talked bollucks on here often enough, but we gave him the runaround many a time and just got on with it. To be fair, his posts were usually football related. He also talked with such great knowledge of our finances and setup that we were sure he had a seat on the CCFC board. I've read a few of his interventions over there and he has obviously got a huge difference of opinion with most of you about practically everything. Now whether that's enough to ban him as a "disruptive poster" is a matter for you lot. You appparently have, and there you go.
Anyone seen that old film Witch Hunter General , who played the main lead part ?..............................;O)
Vincent price.. Not sure what your getting at though? In fairness to you John you are a strong supporter and will stick up of your team unlike Dai.
