I think what hit the nail in the coffin for the guy is that he only showed up when something bad happens for the team, if we win convincingly then he is all but AWOL. The mods and supermods have probably been notified about that and they likely watched out for it and after seeing it for themselves over a sustained period of time they likely concluded that he didn't come online for a discussion.
Was Daiswan a compulsive WUM? I don't know. Did he deserve his ban? Not really my place to say. But I think if he gave as little just one inch of movement on his side of the debate then he may have survived a perma ban. I wouldn't suggest people always change their stance to conform but nobody is that right 100% of the time over such a long period of time.
