I think a small club getting into Europe can be a disaster because they don't have the depth of playing squad required. I don't wish anybody dead but I can't see Allam being around for a long time. He's the same age as David Dimbleby but I think Dimbleby has the edge in a functioning brain.
Permission to be confused. Can someone tell me the name of my team to play Crystal Palace on 23/11/2013 at the KC Stadium. This is all too much for me. Seriously, is the Doc unwell?
I know the solution, tell him just to hike ticket prices. He could have just done that and guaranteed the extra revenue, and it would cost us all, but he wouldn't be facing the backlash from the fans he is now. Don't you think it's commendable he's giving us top level football at very reasonable prices compared to most other clubs in our division?
Here's an idea, he employs a marketing team with their heads out their arse and sets up, and runs a kids club. Say £50 to sign up, get discounts on shirt printing and other similar things. Send them a birthday card and retail voucher. Maybe make more difference than a shirt in China.
The club is Hull City but it's anybodies guess what the registered company will be called. Allam doesn't even know the names in the past so what chance have we got?
That's not a bad idea. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what effect it would have on the gates. If Allam could come to an agreement with the council they could have hotels and hospitality suites which could be making a lot of money rather than screwing the ordinary fans.
FA refute Hull name-change claims The Football Association have refuted claims from Hull City owner Assem Allam that the club's name has been changed to Hull City Tigers. The Premier League team's supremo announced in August that he planned to drop AFC from the club's moniker, as well as the word City as it was "a lousy identity". Hull City Tigers is currently the name of the club's holding company, but a change to the club's name would require ratification from the Premier League and FA. However, English football's governing body have no knowledge of any change to the club's name, and confirmed Hull are currently unable to even apply for a change. An FA spokesman told Perform: "We haven't received an application for a name change from Hull City and the process cannot start until the New Year." Allam took over Hull in 2010, saving them from financial crisis and bankrolling their return to the English top flight. The 74-year-old insists he is not altering the club's identity, but claimed in an interview on Monday that the FA were aware of a change to the club's name. He told BBC Radio Humberside: "I have not changed names. "I don't know where you got this from. If you mean shortening the name, yes we have shortened the name by removing AFC." When asked if he had consulted with the Premier League and FA, the Egyptian queried: "Why would I do that? "The football club's name as registered in the Companies House and with the FA changed from Hull City AFC (Tigers) Ltd to Hull City Tigers Ltd earlier this year." Allam willingly met with fan groups campaigning against the planned changes last week, and asserted the new name is required to boost the club's coffers. "Nothing has changed," he continued. "I explained the position, I explained why we have shortened the name to have a more powerful impact in the market and allow the club to go globally and try to make commercial income like other clubs." http://uk.soccerway.com/news/2013/November/12/fa-refute-hull-name-change-claims/
nothing has changed from before the meeting---a late relative stated Allam was not to be trusted and this last statement seems to verify this. No matter what HE WILL DO WHAT HE WANTS and f--k everyone else
Pappa is not doing his credibility any favours at all. I don't know the name of the female journo that interviewed him on behalf of RH but I would like to congratulate her on a job well done, I think she did a terrific job in what would have been undoubtedly difficult circumstances
People are questioning his ambitions, surely every clubs ambitions should be to play at the highest level and be the best? No matter how big or small, he never suggested this in a year or in a hundred.
