I appreciated it. Posted on one or two but as most of you said, its hard to talk to yourself. I probably should have replied to more as I really liked all of them. Sorry Bluff <ok>

For me, I find that I can only post about football since 1) my English is dry because I live in Canada so our slang is different, and 2) I'm younger than most on here.

So I stick to OnT threads but I do enjoy the banter and discussion on other threads as well. I seriously dislike when a thread gets derailed quickly into pointless conversation and jokes but I feel that without it sometimes this place would be boring.

There are other websites out there but this one is a perfect mix of knowledge and a small group feel. Its sad when members leave gaf, stay and comment on the footballing threads. The more people do that, the more discussion there will be.

I enjoy the youth/reserve thread with Redbrynner and a few others but obviously that's not everyone's cup of tea. Others may enjoy Sisu's daily tinfoil hat threads (I know, I know, I won't be laughing when the powers that be black bag me) or the ****ting threads. As long as there is a mix of both types I can't complain.

I find that lately the balance has swung to the banter and derailing side of things, but whose fault is that? Its not those posters responsibility to accommodate us. If we want more football talk, then we need to talk football. So I ask that you consider staying and posting more. The more people do that, the less you'll want to leave.
 
I posted on a couple of Bluff's threads - my problem [one of them ha,ha] these days is that I'm more a Liverpool fan than football fan in general. I don't watch other teams anymore and have no current knowledge of serie a or la liga for example, so I limit myself to the Liverpool specific threads and I can't comment on foreign players we may be targeting etc as I know nothing about them.

I haven't created many threads either, past history tells me I'm not good at picking subjects people want to discuss. I do think that a lot of times people look at who created the thread before deciding whether or not to comment, the more popular posters get more comments.

I think this stops a lot of people too. I put them up and could care less if I get one post or a sympathy post but that is me. Others may take it harder and not post again. I will always keep ontopic threads going, I will try to keep them Liverpool based but sometimes I stretch it out as I do watch other leagues a lot too. <ok>

I don't take it the wrong way if I get no comments on threads I create, it just tells me I'm out of touch as to what people like. I will have a think and try and come up with a topic before the day's out.

Exactly! The last time this issue came up, you Gonzo and I all posted lots of on topic threads and they all sank. Ironically, this issue has come up again a day after I posted three football related threads and two were still going at the time of OP!!!

I often find a bone to pick at in an attempt to get ball rolling.

Why the on topic gang cant create an on topic thread i'll never know, its really not that hard to do something about it yourself if you're sick of off topic stuff

This really has been done to death now, its exhausting!

So is the stuff us three do. Its up to posters to make something of it. Look at the one I posted yesterday about Gerrard's opinion of Suarez, it was a matter of opinion and therefore didn't need much assistance to kick on (although people moaned about the repetitiveness of the serious discussion within, mainly UIR's fault for refusing to accept defeat <whistle>) but then, I also posted the Skrtel thread which needed a little kick start (I didn't need to do anything though as people know my opinion of Skrtel and it went from there).

I've said to Saint in the past, I often read these C&P articles and I find myself trying to pick fault with something to get a discussion going.
