Story on skysports regarding a fresh approach for him, though this time united are interested...and we know from yesterday that if they want him they will be going for it in a swift fashion.

Thoughts on wether or not he's needed? 15m has been suggested, though i assume that will be a total value basued on appearances etc.

I prefer the supposed negotiations that are occuring hazard - sourced form twitter. Hazard could fit straight in no doubt, and probably for a simialr price.

It's always good to be snapping up the best younger talent and it can reap rewards, think Ronaldo, Rooney, Cesc etc.

But what we really need right now is experience and players that are ready to improve the team right now. £15M is a lot for a player who may or may not make it at the Arsenal.

He's a quality player and we all think he is better than walcott was when he was with us, perhaps on a par with bale. Not worth 15 million to anyone but Southampton FC though...

Seen him play once which isn't enough to judge obviously but he didn't seem anything special. Don't want him unless it is for under 3 million.

Yeah a grand total of a Million on that kid from Charlton. Just another £51 Million left.

Was chattering to a Soton mate about this yesterday no less and he's said almost the the same thing. The jist being that you could see Walcott had potential but he was very raw whereas AOC looks to be a more complete article already. Not as quick as Theo maybe but much stronger and better at decision making. The figures I heard though were 10-12 million which still seems a lot but we'll be doffing our caps to monsieur Wenger if he flourishes.

All that said though I'd much rather we strengthen where we need to strengthen right now...

To be honest, I'm not too bothered about what we spend, if it's £5m or £15m - considering the amount of money we've made on selling players over the last few years, I just want to see us bring in some more players.

That's just silly and I shall remind you of this when we sign Squillachi's older, slower, somehow sh*tter brother to shore up the defence!

I doubt the transfer fee will be anywhere near £17 million up front.
Would probably be about £5 million up front then a lot of clauses.

We need to continue building for the future, as long as it doesn't affect our short term options.
I personally wouldn't spend our money on AOC, Pedro Botelho will be at Arsenal next season, Ryo Miyaichi is not far off and we also have the likes of Wellington Silva who shouldn't be written off yet.

Why its not like we're short of numbers? particularly in attacking areas!

We need experience and Quality. Or squad size is more than big enough.
