we really aren't having much luck with injuries! first bassong and turner get injured as pre season starts, then hooper gets injured during pre season, then tettey has to have an operation, then snodgrass gets knocked out, redmond picks up the most innocuous injury you'll ever see and now wolf, who has been carrying an injury for most of the season, misses out again! things just aren't going our way right now...

what would I like in a new manager...

I don't want him to praise our team particularly, and certainly not blindly and without point...that is neither important or required. what is, for me, is to not big up the team and play down your own and make out that they are inferior. no doubt you'll tell me he didn't or come up with an example of a previous manager having done so...doesn't matter. what I read from him when he took charge made me think that he didn't think much of the team...

aside from that, a manager who went out to win a game, rather than to not lose it.

what i'd like to know from the pro hughton folk, is at what point it will all this be too much for you? At what point will you forget those ten games and believe that to be the anomaly? would you want him in charge of next years promotion campaign should it come about? what has he done that so impresses you? aside from being one of the most likeable and decent faces in the prem, what is it that keeps you seemingly fairly certain that to lose hughton would lead to worse than what we are currently experiencing? where do you get your faith? what have you seen that we have missed?

ok, well if you're happy for him to praise the opposition then i ask you this: when, other than immediately after the 5-0 fulham game, has hughton ever made out that our players aren't good enough and that they are inferior? its a complete myth that we don't go out to win games. just because he is more cautious than lambert was does not mean he automatically doesn't want to win.

i want to know why you think things are so bad that change is needed. anybody who thinks hughton should be given more time can see that there are problems but are also sane enough to understand that things aren't horrendous and there are signs of improvement. the last two games have been a bit of a disaster but this is a confidence issue, not an ability issue. oh, and i see you are an advocate of ignoring form if its outstanding. ****ing brilliant <laugh>

would i want him in charge if we went down? i'm not sure he'd get the chance but i don't see why not. who the hell would we get in who has a better track record in the championship? i think he is far more astute than many on here believe. he is excellent in the transfer market. what we've got is a good manager rather than an outstanding one.

i have faith because i have no reason not to have any. i was perfectly prepared for us to battle against the drop again this season because our squad is not one of the best in the league. so why would i want the manager out because we are battling the drop? if a much better manager is available and willing then maybe we should go for it, but i very much doubt there will be one that fits the bill.

you seem to think what we are experiencing at the moment is something norwich city shouldn't be experiencing. why is that? what on earth is that based on? what were your expectations for the season? granted, i didn't expect to lose 7-0 and hoped we would start the season better, but i can see that players are low on morale. if hughton can't raise morale THEN questions need to be asked but last season hughton did a good job and he deserves the chance to see if he can build on it.

We need a manager who the crowd are behind. I know that's sort of a circular thing, but the fact is the crowd has a massive impact on performances of players. They must do, otherwise there is no explanation for "home form" and "away form".

That's why I wish Hughton had come out and said something like AVB after we beat Southampton or after we won at Stoke. Unfortunately he can't now because he's rapidly running out of credit.

If we can't get the crowd behind the manager and Hughton loses majority support at Carrow Road, then he has to go, irrespective of whether we can get a "better" manager in, because as long as the crowd are behind the new manager, the results will come.

i do agree with this rob.

but isn't that a sad state of affairs that a perfectly capable manager may lose his job and possibly even end up replaced by a poorer manager because of fans impatience?

Lighten up pal, you do seem so unbelievably pro Hughton it beggars belief. It will give me no pleasure to say 'I told you so' when CH finally gets the boot, but I'm bloody well going to do so because of all the grief I've been getting on here when I'm one of the few on here, (and only on here I might add), who can actually 'see the wood for the trees' <ok>

so you're one of the 'told you so' crew. i have no problem with you but you'll go down in my estimation... (not that you'll care, i'm sure).

the reason hughton is under so much pressure is because of you and the group of impatient fans! and it is still a minority - even after losing 7-0!! that says a lot.

kickitoff, why don't you post exactly what you want from our new manager?

then we'll know who we should be looking out for.

Really? Well you obviously sit in a different part of the ground to me, frequent different hostelries to me and work in a completely different part of the City to me. Other than on here I haven't met a single person who's still totally behind CH. As mikey would say 'FACT' !

Free flowing entertaining football, charisma, tactical nous, knowing when to change things on the pitch when things are clearly not working etc. etc. It really is not rocket science. This guy has none of the above and it is a difficult decision for McNally to make as he appointed CH in the first place. I would suggest there is no ideal replacement on these shores, well not out of work anyhow, but I bet McNally has already identified candidates from the continent.

now name a manager who has all, or even some of these capabilities, regardless of if they want to manage norwich city.

i think you expect way, way, way too much and i'm not surprised you're constantly disappointed.

you obviously don't sit in the barclay and you weren't at the etihad either. people were still, in the main, despite everything, still behind the manager. there's definitely been a bigger shift in the last two weeks, inevitable really considering the hammerings we've taken, but there is still not a groundswell of support for his removal. its the noisy, 'get him out now' people who kick up the biggest fuss and make themselves heard the loudest but they are not the biggest in numbers.
