I tend to agree with PL's comments on the way we are playing. Yes, clean sheets are a welcome change, but where's the creativity, the flowing football? It seems that we are slowly evolving into George Graham's goon side, whist they are playing the football that I would love to see us play.

Having said all that, it would be nice to win a decent trophy, however we do it!..I suppose I'm just greedy and want both.

I want both too but I'm hoping the creativity is easier to build on to the clean sheets than the other way around...

Lloris made the decision himself. What's the problem? Sometimes you are your own best doctor.

Ok, I accept your point here, so let"s go on what happened then rather than what could have happened.

Immediately from when the collision happened, the medical staff on the pitch were definite in their view that Lloris needed to go off. Dawson was picked up on camera saying "he's ****ed". On the touchline, AVB told Friedel to get ready which he did. Then Lloris who should have done what he was told, makes the decision to carry on. So a player has ignored medical advice and the manager who should be the one who decides substitutions has been dictated to by a player !

Then today, the club announce the medical staff declared him fit to carry on. Er, no they didn't, they did yhe exact opposite. I know because I saw it on my TV screen. And if he was ok, then why did they then send him for a brain scan ?

Sorry, but it was an irresponsible decision by AVB.

I'll never not watch Spurs because of the football being played but I can't deny that I'm pretty pissed off with how things are going.

We're 4th in the table yet in my opinion, are lucky to be there.

We create barely any clear cut chances and 9 of our 20 points have come from penalties being the only goal scored.

Why buy a £26m penalty box predator when you're not going to whip crosses into the box or knock a couple balls over the defence for him to run onto?

This is the worst performing (in an attacking/ entertaining sense) Spurs side I've seen in years yet we've just come off the back of spending £90m+ (regardless of minimal net spend, £90m+ has still been splashed) hoping that the squad will be stronger and won't rely on a stand out player like Bale, yet at present, we probably crave a Bale-esque player more than anything.

There's a good few other things I'm annoyed with too but I just can't be arsed to type them all :D

You know something isn't right when even Robbie Savage can see what's wrong

Don't know if you read the article, but actually it is quite intelligent and difficult to find anything to disagree with.

I agree with O.S. It 's a well written and constructive article. There really isn't much that Savage says that I can disagree with.
I 'm equally sure that Soldado is a far better striker than he has had the chance to demonstrate so far. For me, Eriksen is by far the best creative force that we have. Why he doesn't play, I can only guess at.

I accept PNP's point that, hopefully, we can build on a solid defensive base, but it doesn't look like happening with the set up we're using at the moment. It seems, as I said earlier, that the aim is "1-0 to the Spurs"

Savage is one of the better pundits, just ignore the dodgy hair and the fact he was viewed as an annoying Welsh twat when he played!

it's quite amazing how our medical staff are being so heavily criticised over this, as if they've made some horrendous decision and aren't up to the job?!

These people seem to be forgetting the work of the our medical team in March 2012....

Lloris was seeing tweety-birds and stars straight after the clash. He wasn't seeing them after ten minutes. You see boxers knocked-out and give a TV interview ten minutes later. People (media, charities) are trying to say that being knocked-out leads to concussion which leads to brain damage which leads to death, and that's far from the truth. A lot of people who are knocked-out don't even see a doctor, are rarely admitted to hospital and even more rarely given a brain scan.

So why the brain scan? Why not? It only take 20 minutes.

I've just watched it back. Lloris asked for a drink. He was questioning why he had to leave the pitch. Part of the confusion was because he thought he was being subbed, when he was only being asked to leave the pitch, as happens with all injuries. And I can't be unsure that we weren't seeing the arrogant "Gallic shrug" from our Frenchman... "Why do you keep asking? It is not me with the problem."

We know he lost consciousness because AVB has told us. We also know he couldn't remember the incident, again because AVB has told us. So surely the most logical and sensible action was to remove him from the field even if it was only as a precautionary measure ??

Has everyone forgotten the first couple of seasons Wenger was in charge at Arsenal? They didn't start playing the fancy football overnight, it took a couple of seasons - certainly in his first season in charge they were picking up more red cards than plaudits for their football, and it wasn't until 1998-9 before their "brand" was truly established (or, to look at it another way, until they had the players to play it - Henry, Bergkamp, Overmars, Ljungberg, Vieira, Petit)

There were signs things are starting to click which led to periods where watchable football broke out against Hull in the COC and Everton in the PL yesterday (which, after a match with Sheriff that was as thrilling as watching England in the Six Nations, was welcome relief...) - although, as the Grauniad pointed out (repeating what I posted on here a week prior, thank you very much) we should be playing Eriksen alongside Sandro in the midfield engine room if we're going to start dictating play rather than just dictating possession statistics.

He's the only pundit on there who has a personality and doesn't mind speaking with some emotion, even if you do sometimes think '' Savage you prick '' then he calms down and talks sense!!

It's very easy to find things that are wrong. Fixing them without breaking something else is the difficult bit.

Savage came up with the genius nugget that, even if we did qualify for the CL last season, Gareth Bale should leave because we wouldn't win the competition. This was two weeks after Dortmund had a prison shower romance with Factitious Madrid in the CL semis.

Add to that Savage's usual bullshit response to when someone disagrees with him, without fail he will say the person "never played football at the highest level." This is Robbie Savage, who played the same number of games in the World Cup, Champions League, or European Championships as any 606 caller: NONE.
