These are bad times for our six fingered cousins down the wrong end of the M69 - Still when was it ever a good time
Coventry have been down near the bottom of the league for so many seasons now that I think it's almost inevitable they will fall this year. Poor team which will be weaker with the departures of King, Westwood and Gunnarson, and an unexperienced manager. Recipe for disaster - or joy, depending on your view point Also, given those odds by vc, I'd have a wee punt on Watford to go down at 5-1. They're losing players on a daily basis and Mackay is being linked with Cardiff. Gonna be bad a season for them....
I think I'll take a trip down the bookies. Very surprised to see them at 6th favourites for the drop behind Derby and Palace. Surely they will go this year. How thick is that skin on their teeth?
They haven't a prayer next season - Trouble is they're nowhere to be seen so we can't take the piss - Anyone remember them all over our board at the start of last season when they were winning and we had Sousa
I know that is a bit of a let down. We can always sign up to Sky Blues Talk and wind them up there, or is that too petty...
I think you've hit on something there - I remember how indignant they got when I dipped my bread after normality returned to the universe and they were losing again - oh how awful, oh dear, how could I stoop so low
They should have known really - I mean how long did they actually think they were going to last until the ****ness of their team landed them in hot water again? Talk about counting your chickens! They were so deluded.
I think Coventry could be the first 'big' club to be wound up. They have been in slow decline for years. They have already had their last minute rescue from administration and I don't know if anyone will rescue them again. Portsmouth were saved because they have recently been in the top flight but Coventry have been out of the top division for a long time. They are haemmoraging support and are yet to hit rock bottom. When they do hit rock bottom it could be fatal.
I think you could be right stourbridgefox. As much as i dislike them i dont want them to go bust. Who else have we got to laugh at
Stated on another thread that despite my well publicised views I can't want them to go under, unlike some I would love to see them trouble the L1 fixture list. That said looking at the state of them you do wonder although I question the big club tag, they are a bad season or two from becoming one of those minnows who at one time in their history played in the top flight and if they made it through to the FA cup proper it would be like drawing Stafford Rangers, no disrespect intended Stafford
I've just realised my signature would need to be changed - Maybe I'll root for them to maintain their L1 status
Well its confirmed - and with its confirmation comes relief because i didnt want him anywhere near the club. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/birmingham_city/9508610.stm
