I seriously want Rhodes at City. Even if it's the only new signing in the next window.

Considering Blackburn have had a few financial hiccups recently, and the fact we can offer TC and maybe Fryatt, we could easily get him imo.

It all depends on where we are come January.

    Lets hope so.

    We're 10 points ahead of 7th spot.

I think Burnley will tail off. Just hope QPR do too, I think they've got the best squad on paper.

Been very interesting though. Whisper it quietly, but we look the real deal. Something is different, we're fighting together. We've finally got rid of the billy big bollocks.

We're looking like you and Cardiff did last season. Efficient.

Now you know how we felt last season.

Considering you've got the potential to have a couple of players who could score 10+ too, makes you pretty dangerous. Vardy's looked the real deal this Season.

I forgot about Tom Cairney. Maybe there's a secret pre-made arrangement where should we need Rhodes, we can have him in January for X amount plus they get to keep Tom Cairney permanently. Wishful thinking... I know, I know.

If we could bring in Rhodes and Long, sign Livermore permanently and maybe get another player on loan as Livermore's permanent transfer would open up the loan slot again then I would be over the moon. Faith in Bruce though, he knows what he needs and probably has some pre-made plans and bids ready. I expect all our business to be done by the time Deadline Day comes around again, unless of course failed transfer bids hamper our plans and we have to resort to last minute bidding again.

    That's it.

You don't need a 30+ goalscorer or an individual who can take on a man with a trick.

You just need a team. Nigel is one of the best at creating them. Like him or not.

Would that be the same team that ****ed up at Vicarage Road last season?

    Vardy just needed time.

In a way, I bet Prozzie is a bit miffed that you got promoted. Think he'd be having the same success if he stayed in the Championship.

    Cairney + Fryatt + 2m = Rhodes.

No, we were a kick from Wembley. We've just improved over the summer by adding experience.

I'm thinking of the shower of ****e that Sven created.

I wouldn't count on that because we had offers received for him to go back to Germany but he only wanted to stay to play in the Premier League. I can't help but feel if we'd have stayed down that he wouldn't have felt so strongly about staying.

And that's all good, but do Blackburn want Fryatt that's the problem. Hopefully they do and that would be quality. Both Long and Rhodes for technically under £5M combined (excluding the players obviously).

Hopefully Matty continues scoring at Wednesday. That should make Rovers think about it.

I saw one of his goals (unless that's his only one) on Soccer AM this morning. Nice finish too, so hope you're right. I honestly think Rhodes and Long would keep us up. Rhodes, Long, Sagbo and Graham looks a lot more promising than what we have now.

He scored twice, as did that Wickham.

Bloody hell, since when did Fryatt get pace!?

I've always rated Wickham. It may have panned out better if we'd have got him on loan instead of Graham.

Fryatt and Wickham are a very good strike partnership in the championship!

He's at his level good for him. Rhodes is **** . he's not what we need at all. I know some wanna **** his face so bad and his numbers are good but so were fryatt's and hooper's. There's a level in the PL which is such a step up. I would go for a striker that is already a PL player. You take a punt on a championship player at the start of the season not in January when you need experience to see it through.

Go on then, throw some names about. The players you are talking about are out of our range. Plus, Fryatt has scored more than 20 goals once and that was in league 1. So comparing Rhodes to Fryatt is a bit daft.

Based on what? The daft amount of goals he scores? He hasn't played at PL level, so how can you say he'll be bad? Or do you just make this **** up as you go along? Yes, there is a level, but given our current financial structure, who would we break the bank for who is already established? Defoe? Crouch? Or do you want somebody who is in form? Fryatt's numbers were good, he was our top scorer in both the seasons he played for us (made all the more impressive by the fact that he only arrived in January) and some stupid fans have based his skill level on last season's handful of injury-weary appearances. We don't know how players will play at the top level because each player adapts differently. Aluko, Sagbo and Brady had never played at PL level either, so why were people so confident they'd step up? I mean, Aluko came in from Scotland, which wasn't exactly a great omen and Sagbo wasn't really prolific at Evian.

It's a bit like Schrodinger's cat; until he actually plays at the top level, he's both good and bad.

Shane Long. Here's a player who doesn't even want to play for West Brom anymore. To me that's a player who will be eager to prove himself in a friendlier/new environment. (just like Fryat at shef wed) which is the exact opposite of a player who is doing well in the championship, who will have a lot on his shoulders and whose form may be trouble/interrupted by a move mid-season to a new club in a new league (where he's yet to play).

    Mckay from Inverness

    harry Kane loan

Naismith from Everton would be a good signing

Helenius from Villa could be a good punt

    Europe:

Bas DOst would be a great signing loan or perm.

    Anthony Modeste

    kolbein Sigborsson

    Finbogassen

    Ola Toivonen

    Imoh Ezekiel and
Michy Batshuayi are really good talents for the future.

Either way, are you suggesting that because there are no obvious options in the Prem that we should automatically punt on a championship player?

I honestly think that form doesn't carry over easily following a transfer between championship and PL. Usually The opposite happens. Hence out of form players like Fryatt find new life elsewhere and players like Hooper lose it after transferring.

    Brady had

Aluko was playing for the Best team in SPL and Sagbo was abroad.

I am basing it on having watched him. I don't see him fitting up front in our system whatsoever. We'd have to change our play significantly. Also I wouldn't take a player who is currently having a good time and a good season at a club, taking him out of his element (the element that is helping him score loads) means it's almost impossible for him to recreate that once he moves.

I suppose it depends how desperate he is to play in the PL. If he is, then it could work. But if he's in his comfort zone but blackburn force the move or accept a bid then you're risking him losing his form.

and finally, if we do take a punt on an unproven championship player, I would certainly not break our transfer record to do so and put all our eggs in one basket.
