I wasn't being serious, as Lewis said, he'll be upwards of £20m. They wouldn't loan him out, he's in the first team. Sigþórsson wouldn't be a bad shout, he's pretty handy. Nobody snapped up Hosiner in the last window, he wouldn't cost a lot and he certainly knows where the goal is. We probably couldn't afford him, but Jelle Vossen at Genk would be a good signing, I've always thought he looked sharp and he's broken into the Belgium national team.
Fischer is a winger for Ajax. A 'wonderkid' if you like. Sigborsson is the current top scorer in the Eridvisie. Hosiner was last season's Austrian top scorer if i'm not mistaken. Vossen is a giant for Genk. Knows where the goal is. Plus he's belgian so he's good.
Cheers - didn't Altidore score loads in the Eridivise? If so not convinced about the quality of that league - but what do I know?
Would far rather us bid for young Griffiths whose top scorer at Wolves. 30 goals and voted best young player in the Scottish league at Hibs last season. He makes Rhoades look very poor by comparison when they both turn out for Scotland. Would come at far less than Rhoades price.
Yep, that's him. No thanks, a waste of a very valuable loan slot - he's not the answer to our problems....
In terms of strikers, I think we need to get at least one, but preferably 2 of the following three: Jordan Rhodes Danny Ings Shane Long I reckon we're gonna get Shane Long for a cut price around £2M, leaving the option for, obviously depending on what money's available, us to go for one of the other two. We could throw in Fryatt (who I understand is back from the Wendies by January?) in part of a player + cash exchange. Throw in a free Aaron McLean as a sweetener too.
I think Rhodes will be available, but at a price. Ings will be worth mega bucks if his goalscoring continues. The lad's English and 21. Long is a good player, but I don't think you need him. You need a goalscorer. The type of guy that gets his shots on target and the kind of guy that finishes chances. I don't think Long is that type of player. Rhodes is who you should go for. EDIT: Good to see you Candy, it's been a while. How are you doing fella?
I see where you're coming from about Long, but look at our current options: Danny Graham hasn't scored a goal in 2013, and just seems drained of confidence. Nick Proschwitz gets his cameo 10 minutes at the end of games, bangs goals in for fun in the reserves but doesn't deliver when he gets his chance. Gedo looked good against Spurs, but there's constant question marks about his fitness and match sharpness. Yannick Sagbo is rather impressive so far, holds the ball up well, makes good runs, link-up play is excellent and gets in the right places. Yet to see whether he can become clinical in front of goal though. He's a 'wait and see' sort of player. Aaron McLean doesn't even need explaining. Ever since his move from Posh, his effort has been 110% all the time but he can't finish for ****e. His penalty miss was just another to put in the draw of sitters that he's missed. Matty Fryatt deserved a chance in the Premier League IMO. He's better than Proschwitz but sometimes he needs too many chances to score. I wouldn't say he's a Premier League player at all, and Championship is definitely his level, maybe he gets his sharpness back whilst at the Wendies. Sone Aluko is great as a 'in the hole' player and most of our play goes through him. He isn't prolific enough in front of goal for us to depend upon him though and we need someone to link up with him and put in a chance should one come his way. Shane Long has been a good goalscorer and West Brom fans love him, so he must be doing something right. If you could get him between £1M-£2M then I'd definitely take him. I agree that we should go for Rhodes. I was saying to a fan at North Ferriby pre-Season that we should have pushed the boat out and gone for either Rhodes or Hooper. Anyway, I'm not doing too bad mate, yourself?
I agree with pretty much all of that. Long for 1-2m would be great business. I'm doing very well thanks, loved our little rematch with Watford at the weekend
Yeah, bet that felt good. The Championship is looking completely unpredictable again and I honestly can't put money on who would be certain for the top two. I always say that Burnley's form is going to end soon, but they just keep going. I have an uncanny feeling that this is going to be Leicester's Season though; play-offs again at least. We might be a Premier League fixture next Season yet
