Slightly shamefacedly, a cheeky plug for this charity event. My daughter has talked me into not shaving for a bit, and I genuinely think that research into prostate cancer is a worthy cause - very few specific treatments for it.

As I can hardly claim not doing something is any kind of sacrifice or achievement, I'm not doing anything like setting up websites etc, just directing anybody who might be able to spare a couple of quid to Prostate Cancer UK's website, its very easy to donate direct to them.

http://prostatecanceruk.org/get-involved/donate/donate-online?amount=10

If you are very unlucky I'll post a picture of the results at the end of the month. Can never hope to match Aussie's excellent 'tache though.

Thanks for your patience and generosity.

Cheers mate, all the best with your proposed effort and that of the charity.

Doing it for the third year running myself. But almost forgot so didn't have much to work with from October.

It's a great awareness campaign, makes people talk about it when questioned why you're growing a tache.

I'll try for a classic Magnum P.I. 80's tache.

Can I just ask a stupid question.
What is growing a 'tache for ??
Are you meant to get sponsored or something or is it just so it gets people talking about it ?

You can do both actually. Have a competition between some mates about who get sponsored the most is one way. Lots of celebrities compete against each other as well. And with all the proceeds going into research about prostate cancer it's a win/win for all of us that might be unfortunate enough to get it.

Ok mate. Thanks for the info :)

Have to say Bandit edges it for me. Shame I won't get anywhere close within a month.

Good cause, prostate cancer research. My father has had it for the best part of ten years now.

It's a bit of both mate, personally I think the awareness raising bit is the most valuable, but of course thecash is welcome. I'm part of a 'team', but it's US based and donating from here is a hassle, so thought I'd just stick a reminder up here rather than nag people for sponsorship.

I'm hoping to end up with a full set of cavalry whiskers, Everything is sprouting out grey, and with my colouring I'm looking like a manky, decrepit, jowly old fox at the moment.

Because I can't grow a moustache...(now please do not be rude at this point boys!)...I have pledged.

Awareness is the most important part of this (like breast cancer)...awareness is so important...but money pledged goes to help awareness and research.
And anyway, a moustache makes a man look so distinguished (except Hitler of course, his was just plain silly)
Go for it lads
