Not the most exciting subject granted.
Just wondering what everyone's take is on the impending Financial Fair Play Rules change which UEFA are to introduce.
The way I see it at the moment a team can spend vast amounts (Man U, Chelsea, Man City) to achieve success. Regardless of their income.
Under the new rules if a club is to qualify for a UEFA tournament they will have to balance the books or face expulsion.
This should in theory lead to an inevitable drop in the huge transfer fees being paid these days.
Teams like Liverpool will in my opinion suffer most having paid well over the odds for Hendo and Carroll recently.
I like the sound of these changes which will hopefully lead to a more level playing field across the board.
Obviously any team without any European ambitions will be unaffected for the time being.

The way I'm looking at it is the teams with massive fan bases, foreign marketing links, high ticket/season ticket prices are going to murder those without the aforementioned infrastructure. The big will stay big, the small will stay small.

done this one before, so in a nutshell, Chealsea buys 5 million shirts from Thailand, at a fiver apiece, being generous there, burns them, says it sold them at forty quid a go, work it out.and so on, how can this be policed?

There'll be loopholes and one set of laws for the top teams and another for the rest, looking at the debts of the Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool this morning maybe they should be made to clear that before they are allowed into Europe? Also the top Euro teams are no stranger to debt either so same for them, do this and it'll be Hartlepool v ****Kickers FC in the CL final next year.

I'm with NQDP on this, the big teams wil stay big & the small will remain small.

With the exception of New****** & maybe a few other's. They get nearly a full house every game, so this will be alot of revenue compared to clubs like Villa,Everton,Spur's,us who get in between 36-40. If we are going to press on we really need to start filling our ground or risk being overtaken.

Will these gig's we have on every year at the SOL be mnaking the club much more revenue?
