QPR welcome The Rams to Loftus Road in what should be a fascinating Championship encounter. Joey Barton returns to the Rangers squad after the midfielder missed Wednesday night's goalless draw at Wigan after collecting five yellow cards this season.
After touring the country in recent weeks, the R`s are finally back at Loftus Road, where they welcome former coach Steve McClaren and his Derby team. In truth, Rangers have stuttered in October, picking up one win from four (D2 L1), although the fixture list was unkind with three tough away games in succession. Worryingly, QPR have lost the attacking threat they carried against Middlesbrough and Barnsley and the R`s mustered just 10 shots on target in October and failed to score in their last two matches against Burnley and Wigan. Lots for Harry to think about.

The injury to Niko could mean a change in formation with Redknapp potentially selecting two up front from a choice of Austin, Chevanton, Johnson and Hitchcock. However, I think it`s more likely that Matt Phillips will come in on the wing and Rangers continue with a five-man midfield. It will certainly be an intriguing match as McClaren worked with the R`s squad for several months over the summer and start of the season and it might mean Derby head to Loftus Road tomorrow full of ideas and ways to exploit QPR`s weaknesses.

Barton could replace Niko Kranjcar in the squad after the Croation limped off in midweek with a hamstring problem.

Centre-half Nedum Onouha (hamstring), midfielder Tom Carroll (ankle) and striker Bobby Zamora (knee) are still out, and although goalkeeper Julio Cesar (broken finger) and full-back Luke Young (hip) played for the reserves in midweek they are not expected to be involved.

Derby head coach Steve McClaren, meanwhile, expects to have an unchanged squad for the trip.

With Zak Whitbread (calf) still out Jake Buxton should continue in central defence, while Adam Smith and Andre Wisdom will battle it out for the right-back spot.

Michael Jacobs provides an option in midfield and strikers Conor Sammon and Mason Bennett will also be hoping for recalls after starting on the bench against Birmingham last weekend.

Jeff Hendrick, Adam Legzdins (both ankle), James Bailey, Paul Coutts, Mark O'Brien, Shaun Barker (all knee), Johnny Russell (leg fracture), Saul Deeney (back) and Ben Davies (calf) remain out.

McClaren spent three months coaching at QPR under Harry Redknapp prior to accepting the Derby job at the end of September.

    Stats

Charlie Austin has scored four goals in his last four league appearances at Loftus Road.

QPR have won all five games at home in which they have taken the lead.

Derby County have scored a league-high 14 goals in the first half of fixtures this season.

In October, no side mustered fewer shots on target in the Championship than QPR (10).

    LAST TIME OUT

Team: Kenny, Hill, Orr, Gorkss, Connolly, Derry, Taarabt (Agyemang), Faurlin, Routledge (Miller), Smith, Helguson (Hulse).

    Ref's

Jon Moss is the match official for tomorrow`s game against the Rams. This season, Moss has issued 23 yellow cards and 1 red card in 7 Premier League games. Premier League official Jon Moss drops down to the Championship for this fixture, the first time he's been to Loftus Road since Arsenal won here in May. That might be good news for QPR, who were awarded two penalties by Moss in a 3-1 home win against Wigan in 2011/12 and saw Everton's Steven Pienaar sent off on this ground by this referee last term.

    Referee: Jon Moss
Assistants: Gavin Muge & Mark Russell

Why did you have to go and put Louise Nurding (Redknapp) up there?! Now I can't sit straight for a week ffs!

I've always thought she looked stunning, even managed to buy a couple of her CD's go figure, never listened to them though.

Prior to our game, which does not appear to be featured on either BBC London 94.9 commentary or Bet365 live stream, I am checking out our Championship opposition on Bet365 - Watford v Leicester just started, and Sheff Wed v Reading later - curious to see what impact Connor Wickham makes to Sheff Wed's struggling cause.

Looks like I wwill likely be following our game on the Bet365 live wave.

    Great work as always nines.

However, looking at what you think could be our likely team, if we start with 4 in midfield Derby will pass through us imo.

Quite bizarre - Leicester have also had two "goals" waved off for offside, so unlike us, their strikers certainly seem to know where the back of the net is.

The official description of that goal:-

"9:08 Goal! Watford 0, Leicester City 1. Chris Wood (Leicester City) header from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner." - some header!

Newcastle v Chelsea has also just started on TV, so following both games now.

Leicester 2-0 up. Watford should have had a penalty.
Watford look so bad at the back................this could finish 4-0 to Leicester!!

A win takes Leicester 4 points ahead of us!!

We really need a win today to keep pace with the top two automatic promotion contenders - but on the bright side, we will be 6 pts ahead of 7th place Watford, with a game in hand, and 9 pts ahead of 8th place Derby.

Watford look ok going forward until it comes to putting the ball away. Reminds me of another team that. At least we have a decent defence.

Agreed. They've missed three simple chances in the 2nd half! I think they'll finish mid table with that defence tbh!
