The link I saw said the life expectancy of an ALS patient averages about two to five years from the time of diagnosis.

The outlook is not great.

Terrible that the o/p of such a sad report, is one of upmanship . He was one of
the most hated Rangers players of his time, but having said that no one deserves
that terrible illness and certainly not such a young man like him . I sincerely
hope and pray that he gets as long a time as possible with a decent quality of
life. It's just terrible news.
