I see Wigan has managed to sign Marc Albrighton in time to face us tonight. Will be a dangerman. Best I can see us line up: ---------------Green--------------- Simpson--Dunne------Hill--------BAE ---------------Henry--------------- M.Phillips--Kranjcar--Faurlin---Hoilett ---------------Austin---------------
Is O'Neil injured ?? Didnt think he was, if so he would probably start ahead of Faurlin. Dont know what SWP has done wrong, with Phillips rustiness, thought SWP may start ahead of him ??
Tough call this one IMO as does he play football or does he go there to avoid defeat? The back five pick themselves and I hope henry plays of course but he needs to give the ball to a playmaker ... Barton had done a great job doing this but IMO Faurlin is a better player The width comes form the full backs and Henry drops to spilt the two CB's Two wide forward players that have to cover and press for the overlaps: Hoilett and I would try Phillips .... O'Neill and SWP on the bench ... Cover at defence is the US bloke Austin up on his own with a flirting NK ... he must impose himself better this match IMO
If O'neil or Jenas play as poorly as they did against Burnley then I can see it being a long night! Its not what i'd go with, but what I envisage is something like: Green Simo Dunne Hill ABE Henry O'neil Matty P Niko Hoillett Charlie
Diakite to make a surprise start? More realistically HR will almost certainly start with Jenas as we do need someone who at least thinks about trying to win the ball. Green Simpson Dunne Hill Assou-Ekotto Wright-Phillips Henry Jenas Hoilett Kranjcar Austin
I think we should go 4 2 3 1 with -------------------Green-------------- Simpson--- Dunne (or OO if he D needs a rest)---- Hill----- AE --------------Jenas----------Ale------------------- Phillips (or SWP)--------------Kranjcar--------------Hoillet (or Traore) -------------------Austin-----------------------
I quite like the look of this SARBF. If we're chasing the game with 30 mins to go, I'd like to see some boldness an introduce both Chevy and maybe Johnson (if fit) and introduce a bit a quickness up front. For that Austin would have to make way, perhaps along with one of Henry or O'Neill, 'cos I'd keep the pace of Hoilett and Phillips with the guile of the Krankmeister. I do worry that Krankie isn't yet fully fit though.
Same players but I'd probably go 4 - 2 - 3 -1 with 2 sitting Midfielders giving the front 3 a freer roll. Faurlin offers the distribution and should be collecting the ball from the back 4, Henry while defensively good distribution is his Achilles by looks. I'd like to see AJ on the bench and given a run out, for me on the right of the 3, I think Austin is becoming too isolated and having AJ up there with him will guarantee some support while keeping the formation, also someone else who wants to get in the box.
He's had a couple of Sub appearances, first time he quite lively, last week I found it difficult to give a judgement because of circumstances
Cheers Vale. Bit out of the loop at the moment, didn't think he'd yet appeared. Hoping for a bit of black magic, as per the YouTube vid of him.
