RED DEVIL LADS makes his rules debut tomorrow for Rebecca Curtis and judged on his sole start in an Irish point to point he really could be quite useful. His one and only start earned him the highest rating achieved by any horse in that sphere last season. That win was on good ground so it does have to be taken a little bit on trust that he will act on heavy going. He needed two trips to the Cheltenham sales ring to be sold as he failed to reach a 190,000 resrve at the first attempt, Shrewd judges reckoned he looked off colour that day but it was only ten days after his debut so maybe he isnât one that will stand that much racing. On his return to the sales ring he reached a tidy 140,000 and he could hardly be in better hands. The yard are not exactly banging the winners in at present but he really should be another in APâs quest for 4,000 winners. A horse that certainly will like the ground is GO ANNIE 2.00 Ffos Las 20-1. If this one sees this trip out she could be very handily weighted and her yard are showing signs of running into form!
I've had a bit of the Lavelle horse tomorrow and nowt else. Hoping the dreadful form last season has let it in handicaps very leniently.
The McCoy quest for 4000 will get a boost today, i think he may get all 5 mounts home, short prices but they all add up im on stay frosty
Palace Princess 2 40 Yarmouth. i note that ian williams is running Chelalla in a 5f sprint at catt-a horse that is a miler ?
Afternoon, people. Hope everyone well. Stick, I was at Newbury, almost 2 years ago, when Go Annie, what a lovely name for a mare by the way, won a bumper. Looked quite decent on that day and if you had stood on the steps of the old Grandstand shortly afterwards and announced that come the end of Oct ’13 she wouldn’t have won since and would be racing off a perch of 85 you probably would have been sectioned with immediate effect! Funny game this pony racing but most deffo looks thrown in today if she recaptures her Newbury form. The big question though is ‘Will she, I say will she, do just that???’ Meanwhile, hugely, hugely, hugely, hugely exciting news troops. Mr Henderson will be training AREA FIFTY ONE in the NH sphere. Bought yesterday at the ‘Horse In training’ sale, for 70,000 gns out of the Fahey barn, the beast was rated as highly as 105 on the level. Old boy Fahey is a competent handler but expect massive improvement when Mr Henderson’s ‘magic hands’ are let loose on this one. Good luck all.
14:00 Ffos Las - Landenstown Star (Form not that impressive but should go well on this heavy ground).
Is this patriotic Welsh money that is making Copper Birch the fav in the opener? Yes he ran At Fishers Cross to a couple of lengths on debut but some serious water has flown under numerous bridges since then. Batu Ferringhi e/w for me.
got some place money oddy-- better than fav backers.....i hve done Brave Buck inthe 200 --e/w double with Palace Princess at Yarmouth --H Daly has a tremendous record at the south wales track....hope it continues..
Water Wagtail now. This Lavelle runner has been heavily backed all day and night. I'm on at 7/2 last night. Currently 7/4. Don't let me down Emma.
Watching that race from Ffos Las, I found myself thinking as they jumped the last "if you'd backed Minella For Steak, what jockey from the last 50 years would you want on that horse?"
Really excited about Taquin De Seuil going chasing this season - could be a real monster. Hope he gets off to a good start here
Not sure if I can get on the forum after this evening, if I don't - Do not send out a search party, I will not be around for a couple of weeks. Do back Tartak if he appears in those two weeks Do listen to stick's selections Don't let the moaners win (save chip?) Don't look for me in the crowd at the Breeders Cup (I will be listening to Macy Grey and someone from Glee) Do - Stay Frosty!!
