Only one runner from the Longsdon yard tomorrow in the form of DAWN COMMANDER. We knew he was well handicapped at the start of the season and we had a momentous punt that was scuppered by the weather. He wasn't long in coming good though winning by a wide margin on his most recent run. The handicapper has thumped him for that and quite rightly so. He should go well tomorrow and while I wouldn't recommend backing him I wouldn't put anyone off either.
The horse I am interested in though is trained at Newmarket by the lovely Mrs Lucy Wadham. I know she thinks the world of this horse and thinks he can be competing with the best in novice chases this season. She will need to be spot on with that assessment if he is to win tomorrow but there is certainly a whiff of confidence about this one. LE REVE 2.20 Fakenham 12-1 progressed very gradually last season. The P in the form was behind a super horse of Henderson's in a bog at Sandown but prior to that he beat a very useful animal called Up To Something. He is a horse that carries the tag "whatever he did over hurdles was a bonus" and now facing fences you will see the real animal. I hope their confidence is justified.
