Is it better than Van Baston's famous goal v Russia. In all respects I think it was, apart from the importance of the occasion? As BMJ said after, he had to cover ground to get there, control the ball and hit it with his weaker foot. I think it'll be many a season before it's bettered. The only one to rival it recently was Crouch's for Stoke against (I think) Man City.
Totally agree. Other than the occasion and the opposition it was a better goal. I can't remember anything as good since maybe the Le Tissier/Yeboah era and even then i'm not sure.

...thats a long time! I never thought he was much kop then, so I was astonished to see him still there when CP got promoted this time. He's survived more than a few different managers in that time, so have you any idea what I'm missing there, as he didn't look PL standard then and still doesn't. Argentina aren't renowned for decent keepers either! Made me think also how many keepers there are that are 10+ years at the same club, not many would be my answer without checking anything.
Would it have helped if Crouch was still playing at Anfield?
