After the disgusting incident at Villa Park yesterday, when an assistant referee could have been killed by a flare thrown by the spurs fans, how many games do you think the FA will ban them from attending their games. I think 6 would be fair, given the severity if the incident.
I know it was only one fan who did it, but as we have seen in previous incidents, the whole group should be judged on this one individual. (See monkey gestures at Anfield incident, which made us all racists according to many posters on this forum). So, by the same thinking, surely they are all potential flare throwing linesmen killers and a cooling off period is needed.

Is this a joke?

Also it was a smoke bomb not a flare lad.

This is a flare, at OT earlier this season.

That was subsequently thrown into your own btw

I think its HIAG's fault and he should be banned

Going by his logic we should now be able to call all Spurs fans hooligans but obv that would be stupid

The fan should be charged and banned for the season from attending any matches tbh, just the fan who did it.

And then give Luis a 10 game ban for being in the country when it happened because it was his fault via butterfly effect

If there's any truth to this then no ban for me.

Far too often in this nanny state we go down the Thatcher route of zero tolerance. Why wreck a persons life over one mistake which may have been an accident?

If this was Liverpool we would get slaughtered for this.

The BBC would feel the need to add that Luis Suarez got an eight game ban for racially abusing Evra recently, for whatever reason.

However it is Spurs.

Try being a Chelsea fan. We aren't even allowed to voice our opinions about our own club without media ****storm.

Fixed<ok>

The 'fan' who threw the smoke-bomb should be banned for life from ALL Premiership grounds. Sounds harsh? GOOD!

It's a stupid thing to do to take either a smoke bomb or a flare into a crowded area. It's even more stupid to start throwing such devices around.

Then you have to take into account that this device hit an official. That official had his back to the crowd and therefore could not see the object coming or take evasive action. If the assault on the official is not dealt with harshly then there is an argument regarding the penalty that some other 'fan' may face who deliberately targeted an official.

Matters not if he was a Redman, a Bitter, a Spud, it's just too dangerous to countenance.
