I was wondering what you think about Osvaldo? I have seen him play a few times and I like his aggression but I am disappointed by his tally of one goal. I think he adds to the high pressing but seems out of tune with his team mates and rather profligate

He's new and it will take him time to adapt to the premier league

Frankly not impressed with him. Seen him live a couple of times and have been disappointed. Disagree that he puts himself around enough and he has now missed several glaringly takeable chances. However wont argue with MP's selections as overall they get results and I'm will be very happy to eat humble pie if I'm proved wrong but I don't think he's the real deal.

MP knows him well and thinks he's the real deal. Good enough for me.

Far too early to judge him. Give him some time for gods sake.

He just needs to settle in - a couple of his missed chances have been where he is trying too hard. Just look at his goal for Italy last week to see his class.

Also, unlike the English national team, you do not get picked for Italy if you're crap.

If you saw his goal for Italy the other day you would see it as a work of genius. What Southampton have to do is work out how to fit that genius into our style of play.

Given the amount of possession we had yesterday both Osvaldo and J Rod were very quiet.

Wenger said it can take six months for a foreign player to settle into the PL. He is a class striker (no playing for Italy if you are not), he gets himself into the right position and will score more soon, and he is full of enthusiasm. Sure we will see more from him soon. Remember, Lambert is a great striker but is not scoring freely at the moment...we all know that he will start scoring again soon. Our front line is a bit experimental at the moment. On the plus side, Lallana is on form again (even if he has to start stealing goals from defenders :)).

True, it took Giroud nearly a year to adapt, and look at him now, a different player.

He had a bit of a stinker in front of goal yesterday and he desperately snatched at that chance in the 1st half, but you shouldn't judge players on the edited highlights.
From what i've seen he has excellent close control and quick feet, uses his body well and comes with a solid work ethic.

As a typical latin american you don't need to have a degree in body language to read his emotions on the pitch and it's clear he gets a little frustrated with his team mates not spotting his runs etc
Overall i'm confident the goals will come, he is getting chances in games and he has scored goals in Spain and Italy.

He's clearly a class act but he hasn't really got going for us. I don't think he's frustrated with his teammates, he gets given the ball enough, he seems to be more frustrated with himself. Whenever he misses a chance, like yesterday, he seems to basically just mope around for the rest of the game with only sporadic bursts of activity. I hope he gets some more goals soon purely because if he does I think he may become completely useless.

He's a good player but he was dreadful yesterday and barely contributed to the team. He certainly looks more threatening with Lambert alongside him.

Let's start calling him "One Goal". It's a tactic that's worked in the past.
