Interesting that soo many put Toure in there teams. He's big and powerful but for me I would have Pirlo, Gerrard, Di-Rossi, Xavi, Schweinsteiger, Gundogan, Bender, Fabregas and Martinez over him any day.
Dammit! Ok swap Piszczek for Ivanovic. Choosing a CF is tricky Ibra,Cavani and Falcao all come close. Now that's a nice team.. --------------Handanovic---------------- Ivanovic---Kompany-----T.Silva-----Cole ---------Xavi-----Pirlo-----Ozil----------- ----Messi----Lewandoski----Ronaldo----
Yaya Toure is simply a beast. There are times when he seems unstoppable in midfield. He is excellent defensively, powerful on the ball and can drive through and score. He can play as CB, DM or in the centre of midfield and is very hard to get the ball off. A dream player to have in the centre of your midfield and a player I would buy for Arsenal in a heartbeat.
This all over! Possibly Gundogan in there for Vidal and another right back but with only 1 per nation it's too hard.
It's not like you're saying that he's better than them either, you can only have one of any nationality and there's a lot to chose from with the Germans and Spaniards. Xavi's the only one I'd say is better and Pirlo's about the same level but Toure's a lot better than most of the rest of them.
I really dont think so. In Europe he has often looked a little lackluster against the best passing sides. (In fact this is why Busquets replaced him at Barca) For me Yaya is all about athletiscm - he's a physical beast but in terms of ability he's behind the TOP midfielders (Pirlo, Xavi, Fabregas etc..). I still see him as a poor mans Vieira.
He was immense in the game at the Bernabeu last season and didn't deserve to be on the losing side. I think you're confusing ability with technique, there's no doubt Toure is a top midfielder.
He was immense at the Bernabeu last season for a start. I think you're cofusing ability with technique but even still he can strike a ball as well as any of them and pick a pass pretty well too. Yeah it's his strength that really sets him apart but there's a lot more to his game and there's no doubt in my mind that he's a top midfielder.

I'm with you on this even if you said it 4 times. The guy is multi talented and has great skills to go with it. Easily one of the best midfielders in the World and was a mistake for Barca to let go. He could walk into any starting 11 and is Man City's best player amongst all their top players. His multi dimensional play would add so much to any starting 11. One of the most complete players around.
My world XI -------------Cech-------- Zabaleta----Kompany---T.Silva----Cole ----------Xavi----Toure----- --------------Ozil---- --Robben----Messi-------Ronaldo-- A well balanced team here with all nations well represented.. Kompany - Captain Cech - Vice Captain
Cech Piszczek - Kompany - Thiago Silva - Alaba Schwiensteiger - Pirlo - Iniesta Ribery - Messi - Ronaldo
Agree with that. Toure has good games, but is far too inconsistent. If he's not in the mood to make those bursting runs through the middle, he's lazy, barely moves to track back and has hardly any influence on the game. I think he flatters to deceive at times whereby a free kick goal suddenly makes him appear to have had a great game. Not sure why everyone's picking Kompany either; he's been off the boil for at least a season and a half now - never mind the injuries. -------------------Handanovic---------------- -Zabaleta--Chiellini-----T.Silva-----Baines- ---------Iniesta-----Vidal-----Ozil----------- -----Messi----------RVP----------Ronaldo--- Not seen many RBs this season with noteworthy performances, but I really like Zabaleta overall. Gets forward and provides attacking width. Cole isn't even the best LB in the PL, so obviously Baines gets the nod.
