Spot on-but we need to find a way. It was the same with us in league 1. we got turned over now and agin by teams that should be no where near beating the team we had, but they wanted it so bad and riaed their game so much. In contrast we expected to win certain games and that was the wrong mentality
Yes, and without harping on about the Germany and Spanish teams of the football world, they can handle that Polish lads mentality. If youre good enough, like they are, even sticking eleven bodied back to defend wont work, we found that out at the Euro finals. The English media need to leave you lot alone for the next seven months but we all know that wont happen. I'd say they already have some of their **** stirring headlines written and just waiting to go to press. Irish media different during finals. They usually dedicate more space to the fans enjoying themselves than the on field activities, and guess what, thats the way it should be

It is true there are exceptions as you say, but I think Eire's point is that when they need to step up and get the result needed, they generally pull out the performances, even if the opposition raise their game for a cup final. I dont trust England to do the same. I 'm not even confident about tonight tbh. On paper it looks safe, but football is not about paper
People always remember the poor games, and although England usually play well against good teams, our inability to take penalties leaves us remembering the poor games. If we could take penalties like the Germans and they like us.How would that effect our view on both teams.
How hard can it be to kick a ball from twelve yards or whatever. These guys have done nothing else since they were ten only kick footballs around and they cant manage to hit something the size of barn door from twelve yards. Youll see five all penalty shoot outs involving div 1 or 2 teams in cups, stick an national jersey on them and theyre crap. I cant understand it
Don't think we will ever work that one out,how a guy on £100,000 a week because of his footballing skill, who can bend, swerve, juggle, overhead kick and back heal it into the net cant kick it straight into the top corner.
That's a good point, and whilst if we could take penos we would have a couple more results worth talking about, quite a few of them would be masking over inadequacies and our inability to win during the 120 minutes prior to that. case in point our most recent knock out v Italy. We never looked like winning that game, Pirlo absolutely dominated us in the middle of the park despite being sooooooo old (i know hes still a class act) and if we had won on penos, it would have been a victory we did not deserve, and would deflect suggestion that we needed to improve massively. Simply holding on for 120 minutes against better opposition isnt what I would want for England.
I wonder if anyone will be comparing and contrasting the hairstyles of the England and Polish players tonight? Maybe some good mullets on show.
Who knows whether the perm is coming back, well maybe someone does? Seem to be a lot of Mercs at the Grove Hotel in Watford today. Either the England or Poland teams are staying there before Wembley tonight, or there is a hairdressing convention in town. Whichever one, the smell of hairspray is wafting over the town.
Elland will be along in the morning to update us will all matters coiffure, has the car, the drier, the scissors, and the mince allegedly.
I amazed by the lack of support for England, I'm as proud to be English as I am to be a Leeds fan, yes we might be ****, but surely were used to it by now, and there MY **** country an I love em. Ups and downs an all that. Show a bit of pride! Probably why we are **** cos there no pride anymore...
