If England do reach the World Cup Hodgson would be a twat not to take Lambert to Brazil. England will undoubtedly end up in a penalty shootout and when you have players like Ashley Cole taking penalties you know you're short of quality penalty takers.

If Rickie has a decent season for us then he should be almost a shoe in for the national team as Carroll will probably pick up an injury just from answering hodgon's phone call. Rickie's already shown he can perform with the national team so if he keeps up some decent form towards the end of the season then why not.
