The pressure's building on the Gerries to win something if you ask me. The past few tournaments they've used the 'young team' card. It won't work this time

Good point. They've been brilliant to watch the last coupla tournies.

I absolutely hate Brazil. And Spain.

Anyone other than these two is fine by me.

It's not so much i hate Brazil ER but more the media fawning over them as though they have a divine right to win it. It gets impossible to watch because the commentators almost have an orgasm every time they have a shot. I'm getting to feel exactly the same way about Barcelona and spain.

Totally agree Dan.

My goodness, I'm in a very agreeable mood today.

They won't need to play the young team card - they can just use the "FIFA fix it so that a European team cannot win in Latin America" excuse and most of the media will agree. If England qualify they'll use the same line when we get knocked out in the group stages by Bosnia Herzegovena - and apart from Adrian Chiles, Ian Wright, Clive Tyldsley et al nobody will agree.

So for this one thing, most Scots/Irish take the media as gospel? <doh>

<doh>

No. But when you're ex ex manager and former golden generation player come out and say stupid **** like "We can win the world cup" the media get worked up in a frenzy.

Thus resulting in the rest of the UK having to listen to all the pish that gets spouted for weeks on end about how England have the players to win a major tournament.

This is my stop. If you want to argue over it so more, you best find someone who gives a flying ****.

When that plane went down a couple of years ago with all those polish vips on it, the poles around the corner from me hung a polish flag at half past. Like any ****er in our neighbourhood would know what it was :laugh:

Anyway, the first game I watched was that 1973 stinker. I expect us to beat the poles tomorrow, no sweat.

To be honest MD it pisses a lot of us off too and we support the bloody team so it must drive you lot mental. I know quite a few Scots and Irish who don't mind England doing well in any sport but they all say the same about the press.

Dorty <cheers> Where have you been hiding?
