To put it simply you say you wouldnt marry a catholic because of the hassle you percieve it may cause? yes? If so what hassle?

Yeah catholic & prods get on just fine here. No hassle at all.

The number of mixed marriages are increasing as areas become less segregated. People weren't avoiding marrying other religions due to the religion of the person, there was little opportunity to meet. As there are more opportunities to meet, more mixed marriages.

It isn't rocket salad.

Like I said, maybe not a lot of people will admit it but I'm sure a hell of a lot of people would avoid mixed marriages themselves.

But why is it a hassle?

A fella I know goes with a girl from the Short Strand. Her family cut her off when she started going with him, she now lives with him and his parents in Newtownards. Saying that he is a mad loyalist and a bit of a prick.

Best thread on here in a while.

I won't share food from the same plate as an Asian.

I'm no racist though...

I refuse to eat Indian food these days.

The whole eat with one hand, wipe yer arse with the other kinda throws me off.

I'm not racist either. I just think toilet paper is a handy invention <ok>

PS: Taig birds are usually quite filthy. I've never felt dirtier than the time I rid this wee bernadette wae her wearing her brothers Celtic top.

Im not saying its just you medro - there are lots out there who think just like you and think its normal not to go out with someone cuz of the religion of the household they happened to be born into and had it drilled into them that people of a different religion are somehow not to be associated with.

Id say in NI a high percentage agree with you - not the majority id say though

What I will say to hold that view is bigotted and wrong.

Outside of NI the majority of people would laugh at you for being so pathetic though!

Maybe you should move away and experience life and realise a persons religion isnt actually that big of a deal

Did she make you wear the top or was it your idea?

I must admit if I'm asking a lassie out the first thing that pops into my mind is not "is she a fenian" nor "she's a bit brown looking"

Can't be bothered with religion or racism.

In my line of work I deal with a lot of darkies and most of them are papist bastards.

The OP, considering who posted it, was a step beyond self-awareness too far to begin with.

It's descended beyond farce and into the realms of the musings of a Victorian Bedlam patient.

<laugh>

The topper was using a dictionary definition of racism.

Aye, racism can be defined wholly using one sentence. <doh>

their dad would probably be a fanny (by definition)
silly things you would need to attend (eg. holy communion)
no meat on a friday
pressure to get married in a chapel by a priest <shudder>
****ey kids names like Anton

Do they still practice this?
