I know loads in mixed relationships. I had two kids with a cream bun myself, the second 11 years ago.
My wife is a lapsed Kafflik. I read somewhere that 40% of marriages in Scotland are mixed. How would you know the religion of someone prior to going out with them? "Do you have a map?" "No, why?" "Because, I'm getting lost in your eyes." "Aw that's so sweet" "Thanks, you wanna drink?" "Yes, I'll have a vo....." "Sorry, but are you a taig?" "Well, not that it's your business but I am, why?" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> please log in to view this image
It is for me and a hell of a lot of people in this country. So I would be racist for pumping black birds but don't want the hassle of going out with or marrying one?
I've honestly never met anyone who has said they wouldn't go out with some because of their religion. It's a crazy idea, you meet a bird and like her, find out she's a Taig then bolt?
Yes, yes you would. If your sole reason for wanting to pump someone but not marry them is their race then that's actually ****ed up.
Seriously? You don't know anyone in Ardoyne who would not go with a prod? I find that hard to believe. A wee girl in my work is from Londonderry, nicest wee bird and she said that she could never go out with a unionist / prod, saying that her family simply would not have it. No it doesn't Racism; prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior
I didn't say I wouldn't I was using that as an example. Bigotry between catholic/nationalist/republican and prod/unionist/loyalist is a bigger deal here then racism as you can imagine.
I have honestly never heard anyone come out with it, there will be the odd spastic of course. Yer off yer nut Medro
I'm guessing most people wouldn't come right out and say it. If that wasn't the case do you not think there would be a hell of a lot more mixed marriages? No. How did you come up with that conclusion?
I'll let you re-read your posts and work that one out To put it simply you say you wouldnt marry a catholic because of the hassle you percieve it may cause? yes? If so what hassle?
The number of mixed marriages are increasing as areas become less segregated. People weren't avoiding marrying other religions due to the religion of the person, there was little opportunity to meet. As there are more opportunities to meet, more mixed marriages. It isn't rocket salad.
