So we are getting a young promising striker plus 16.5 Million, for a young promising midfielder. Sweet.
i resigned myself to the fact jordan was leaving a few days ago, so im not shocked, and think we've done very well out of it. time to move on, nowt we can do about it, so lets make it a positive thing.
syd thats ****e we are only replacing our big name players with sub standard players we are not building a squad we are hardly building a capble team once our stars have gone we start again with less quality
16.5 cash is good money I think. We have some money for reinvestment that was needed due to 1/5 of our squad not returning due to loans. Lets hope they have some exciting stuff in the bag
commachio it will be difficult for us to move on now imo we will have to start again may be bruce has had to many problems trying to build a stong squad he has not replaced our lost stars yet never mind move on
I'm afraid I was one of those who could not see the hype about Jordan and last season I saw very brief glimpses but not 20 mil worth.
its only one player, i was resigned to loosing him at christmas, and most people i seem to recall was saying if we got 20 million we should snap their hands off, he is never worth that. now that it looks like he is going, its all what are Bruce and Quinn doing, they should be sacked etc etc. He is a home grown player, who we are getting good money for, if ngog is 3.5 million its not that bad of a deal, if he succeeds with us great, he may go to Man U in a couple of years for another 20 million, if he fails miserably, then there is no outlay really. so even if we sell him for 3 million in a year or 2, that will be his wages paid for. I really cant see a problem with the deal, yes it would have been nice to keep ahold of him, but we are not a top 6 club, so it was always going to be hard, thats football though.
I can only give my honest opinion mate, I see a lot in Colback but did not see it all in Henderson, good yes but 20 mil good, just dont see it. BTW, not saying I'm right just what I see
What?? We had 0 fit strikers in the last 5 months of the season - ZERO - haw can signing a striker not improve that?? He is not a world beater granted but good enough for a place on the bench. We are not "replacing" anyone - we have simply sold Henderson and could possibly sign N'Gog - if you believe that is the end of our spending simply because we've sold one and could sign one then you must live in a different world to me. I don't get this "Replacing" lark anyhow - we need a squad to go forward and N'Gog will not be a bad squad player to have on the bench and at £3.5m (if that is correct) that's not too bad IMO. Had we spent £10m on him then you'd be right to be upset but £3.5m is next to nothing and in no way a replacement for anyone - simply an addition. If Westwood and Larsson sign for free then you'll see that the squad is improving as well
