Well looks like derby have signed Tyson plus they have homesick Theo so they are looking to get rid apparrenty don't remember how he did against us. It does seem that every club bar ours is in for players or have signed them. In KJ I trust but come in Kenny get your finger out

Deano - Players, if given the choice will sign for the club which is more likely to get promoted - do you think that next season we've got a chance?
KJ has made some great signings with little money but we are going to have to make some extraordinary signings if we're going to keep up with the top clubs.

Apparently we're slogging it out for Harewood with Reading. As said before, if we can get players in before pre-season starts then Harewood could be a good signing.

we really will struggle at this level to attract players... realisticly unless the wage structure is changed we will always come second to those clubs who cn pay more.... in kj we trust but he cant work miracles (he gets close lol) but money talks unfortunately and its suh a shame beause i really think we are only a few players away from real contention

Fingers crossed then and time will tell if the finances are good enough for JB to think lets go for it as they're the best they've been for donkeys years and he's ambitious.

yea he is ambitious so lets hopefully see him spend... i think 2 seasons it will take for us to realisticly gain a deent enough squad to get in the prem and stay in. think we have an excellent base, just need a few players to mature henry, marquis & mcquoid and with a number of additions we could really stand a chance. i'd hate to make it to the prem and then our team just lays down and dies....

True showoff but never say never however id still be happy with a top 10 finish next year we all know about the salary cap I'm guessing its around 7k as that was what Moro was on I'd just love to see us go out and get someone early to replace him and bed them in during pre season. Rumour is frisbee should be signing however I'd prefer M&M before him

For those who remember, the last time we went up to the 1st we had a team that (apart from Teddy) were a 2nd Div team but with the belief, drive and manager of a 1st Div team. Also we had a fortress of a ground that other teams used to **** themselves going to. How does that compare?

Exactly Showoff - can't compete in promotion seriously if we don't pay the wages first of all and don't have a quality squad with depth.

Just looked the fella up on wiki. Tbh I thought it was the Davies from Chesterfield lol but Barnsley have just signed him. At 23 he looks like a promising prospect but he's spent half the time in the treatment room. He can operate on the left wing which could be useful if we need cover. Weeds tried to buy Davies on three occasions when he was at tranmere so he could be good. He spent alot of his time on the sidelines at Derby fracturing a metatarsal in his right ankle before later having surgery. Nigel Clough rushed his therapy and conditioning following the operation and as a result he sustained cruciate ligament damage resulting in another lengthy spell out. He made his return against the mighty lions scoring Derbys goal in the 1-1 draw.
Now we have a little bit of money to play around with I want KJ to secure a player with a bit of experience and a good goal scoring record. This man ain't gonna fill morisons boots. Hopefully we can pull off a deal to bring in Le Fondre. COYL

Problem is , at best were a championship side and have to be honest i just think weve reached our own level regarding where we rightfully should be imo , if we are serious about challenging for a sniff of promotion
then as it is in this league you need to spend to compete with the best but i just cant see millwall breaking that as its a risk if it fails, but if you dont take risks you will never know. If we didnt have kenny in charge
and his shrewd buisness dealings another man would struggle on our wage structure and in any case would we last long in the prem , no is the answer but great while it lasted a la blackpool.

Hear you loud and clear millwallroar. We've had a wonderful three seasons and if it wernt for JB & KJ we probably wouldn't be in the position we are in now. We've definitely surprised a few teams to where we finished this season. I dont neccessarily think we've punched above our weight cause we've got a good solid team but you just feel we need to sign a couple of players who are experienced and proven at this level to add a bit of strength and depth to the squad. I think the teams coming up and down to the championship are better than those that left making next season even more competitive. Teams like Middlesbrough and Portsmouth that started poorly began to pick up some form towards the end so I think next year is going to be very tough. I dont think where competitive enough for a top 10 finish unless we make some shrewd signings. But of course this won't happen unless we alter the wage structure. I'm sure this has been changed since we were promoted but the fact of the matter is we dont have the 20k+ attendances to offer these wages. Maybe JB will let KJ break the wage structure if we do well next season. In KJ & JB we trust!

According to Wikipedia, Davies signed a 1 year contract extension which will keep him at the club until the end of 2012.With Derby having the option to extend this by a further year.

He is 23 years old, 6'1 but the only thing is he is prone to injuries.
