Moyes was holding them back, they needed someone new to take them to that next level lol..... Na after 6 games last season Everton were top on 13 points I believe... Chelsea may have cost themselves by getting rid of Lakaku
United and Moyes got a football lesson there from City. Now funnily enough, City got their own lesson from Bayern. Arguably the thrashing of City was much more comprehensive than that of United. After all United was playing away. It is just amazing how powerful Bayern has become in such a short time. Just look at the scores: 7-0 against Barcelona (2 matches) and now this overwhelming of one of our so called better teams in their own backyard. 80 minutes of solid footballing lesson: twice the possession, >twice the number of attempts at goal at nealry 20 and on target >10. Domination for nearly 80 minutes. Just awesome football...
To be fair it's been coming. 3 C.L finals in 4 years. They haven't been able to beat us over 240 minutes though!
But that's just it, it hasn't been over a short period of time. It's been over the course of 3-4 years. Bayern gave City a footballing lesson and credit to them, but they made the same tactical error as you did against City. Fernandinho and Yaya Toure were never going to have a chance against a midfield three of Kroos, Schweinsteiger and Lahm in the same way Carrick and Fellaini were never going to have a chance against a midfield three of Nasri/Fernandinho/Toure. Most games are won and lost in the middle of the park, Mourinho was one of the first to realise this and was killing teams by playing 4-3-3 against 4-4-2 formations. Benitez was another, he packed the midfield and it's no surprise we had these two in the Champions League Semi Finals as they were the best two tacticians and expansive with their formations. I can guarantee the game at the Allianz between these two will not be as one sided because Pellegrini wouldn't dare play 4-4-2 at the Allianz. He was too bold and paid the price.
To be fair they looked even better at the Emirates in the knock out stage last season. Some of the football they played in the first half was as good as I've ever seen.
Not just that, they completely dominated all three of those finals. All they were lacking was that final cutting edge to finish off Inter and Chelsea, which they seem to have found now. Over the last four or five years they have essentially been as good as Barca, just not as good at making their domination tell until now.
It is amazing how mediocre Chelsea have become. Who would have thought they are worse with Jose than with Rafa. They have been overtaken (by a long way) in London by arsenal and spurs. Scary !
have to admit I'm surprised moureens 2nd spell hasn't turned out so good..... so far that is.... it's still very early but fun to see some of the favorites completely go against the grain.
Mata out of favour, pushing Lukaku and Moses out on loan . utter madness and these chumps still think the sun shines out of Jose's arse. They do say that you should never go back...Kenny's experience wasn't that good second time round was it?
we got a cup and 35mill of donkey out ofit so I dunno lol mata's absence is nuts **** knows why? some power trip from Jose or summin
You can see why RA wanted other managers other Jose, but they all refused, so he had to take the last choice in managers.
I'll probably watch the arsenal game, cmon west brom! junjizzaz saved Moyes from more pressure yesterday, unfortunate because sunderland played well against you and us last week with **** all to show for it, if they keep playing like that they should be OK
Whenever I watch Chelsea or Arsenal they win, we do need rivals to drop points but we need to focus on our own form and hopefully we kick on after the internationals.
