It's unbelieveable they could pay him so much and not pay their creditors.

After that, not really interested. There's only one Rangers and they are from London.

Not sure anyone's bovvered to be honest. You might as well be talking about a manager from a Conference north club.

Wasn't asking whether you were 'bovvered' my old matey.
I was incredulous that a club in that kind of financial predicament was prepared to pay that kind of money to their Manager bearing in mind they were in Scottish Div 3.

Mccoist salary is a joke but they do get 45000 crowds, everything that is wrong in football when wee pishy teams like qpr can give players 120 grand a week while getting 12000 crowds

Wee pishy team that plays in a league with much higher standards then the SPL?? Big fish, ****ing small bowl!

@harryhood67
I guess by your name your a Celtic fan as I was/am being born in Glasgow and watching most games in 67'.

The problem with your post is that QPR fans as I have been for nearly 40 years won't appreciate the "wee pishy team" comment. Also I don't know anyone earning 120K per week at Loftus road. The average attendance is 17,000 not 12,000.

The problem you have created for me is that you have opened this thread up for the more volatile (nicest word I could find) QPR supporters to attack Celtic FC. I can only hope that you are a Glasgow Rangers fan in disguise being a WUM.

I loved Celtic and still want them to win but QPR is my team now. Rangers fans attack the poster not the club please :)

Qpr , I am a celtic man no wum , go to every game in fact and done so for 35 years , the reason I replied the way I did was the comment comparing our league to conference football , the top 6 teams in the epl maybe can , but the rubbish below certainly can't . What wages was your goalie on last season and the right back you got from chelsea???

Celtic would be a mid championship team, the next top 4-5 in the spl would flounder in league 1

Celtic would be a mid championship side !!!!!! Only a couple of weeks ago we went to ac milan and played them off the park , even their players admitted they were lucky .We've played Barcelona 3 times in the last year 1 win and 2 defeats both to late goals

Personally I see no reason why Rangers or Celtic shouldn't be allowed into the Football League. The precedent has already been set with Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham and Newport County, plus Berwick playing in the Scottish League. I'm not sure you can say yes to Welsh teams but no to those north of the border; it should be all or nothing.

With each recording home gates of 45,000 I'm pretty sure they'd soon be able to attract greater talent and become a force in the Premier League, even if they started down in the Championship.

Isnt Wales a principality and Scotland is not, hence why the England cricket team is really England and Wales.

I could well be wrong but I thought the was a distinct difference between the 2 countries.

Saying that, I still dont think welsh teams should be allowed in our leagues but at least they arent being governed by the FAW which was a farce as Cardiff got a great advantage by having every single red card rescinded, no matter how valid.

Distance would make it such a pain for a number of clubs, particularly those in London and the South of England. Also, surely you need to consider what this would do to other clubs in Scotland. The likes of Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibernian would be stranded in a league which no one would be interested in. That seems unfair on them to me.

They would just fly. I think their league would be ok, it could actually increase fans as now every team would have a chance of winning the league instead of it being a 1 team league which is laughable.

Same goes for the PL if the top 4-5 left for a euro league, Id love that to happen.

and last week you played the team bottom of Scottish Championship and still couldn't put the ball past the keeper - don't delude yourself by pretending that Celtic would hold their own in the EPL. Performances like that against Barcelona and Milan are all well and good, but the present Celtic team would struggle to maintain that level on a week in, week out basis. To hold their own in the EPL Celtic would need a full re-vamp of their playing squad, and only a couple would make the step up.

Take a look at the amount of players from SPFL teams (including Celtic) that go down to England and struggle to hold first team places in lower EPL/Championship teams - the level of competition is miles apart.

They are already stranded in such a league........I go up to Edinburgh once or twice a year and catch a Hibs game. The matches are dire, but the weekend is a good craic. We will never hear the end of this stuff until Celtic and ultimately Rangers get a go in England, and then they will be strong teams because of the fanbase and economic strength they will both have. But the current squads and management teams would not last long. Of course if the Scots decide to go independent I presume they are stuck with what they have. FIFA would probably have a bash at the UK having 4 seats if leagues begin to merge as well.

I'm delighted we got Austin rather than Hooper though.

Didn't you lose to Morton too?

Give scottish football a 1/20 th of the money yhe English get and our product would be better , funny how your clubs keep trying to get players from the spl on the cheap, keep kidding yourselves your game is great once you fail to qualify for the world cup you might c9me round to agreeing with me your game is totally overated
