about 7 mil for Ngog, 20 mil for Hendo is way OTT and we all know it, most of us would have said 10 mil was a good deal a few weeks ago.

I can’t wait for the spin later on this one. The numbers will be massaged along the lines of, you know, what a great deal was had for £22m including N’Gog like we can’t F****n add. Anything to appease the fans so we all feel a better with Hendo’s departure. It's supply & demand Syd & demand is HIGH for English players so I don’t consider £20m for Hendo over the top however obscene the figure is to the hard working or unemployed fans.

Seriously - Where else were we going to get £15m+ at this stage in the transfer window ? Chelsea or Man City potentially, but I don't think Henderson is on their shopping list TBH. SAF certainly wouldn't have gone that high this early, he would more than likely held off until the close of the window and paid £15max IMO. We now have reasonable money and equally as important we have time to spend it.

People on hear need a reality check - what can we actually achieve and sustain both in terms of league position and gaining and retaining players? Top 10 finish this season was great and before anybody piles in - it was nore lucky that our 16th two seasons ago - that could have very nearly been so much worse. I terms of the overall image of the club, on and off the pitch, we are still well behind Villa and Everton, but are bridging the gap - these are the two clubs that we could potentially match in another few years, but even they struggle to hold onto players!!!
